Tag to Michael!
Who: Alicia Spinnet, Michael Corner, anyone else who wants to help or laugh at them!
Where: Field outside Hogsmeade
When: Oct 15,
What: Big people, little brooms.

Alicia stacked the piles, double checking that they were all in order. she had no doubt that they were sound, she would never take one out if she didn't believe so. The tests in her workroom seemed to be in order but she needed to see how they would handle weight and wind. If they could support adults then it should be no problem for children. Ideally she would know how they would react to each individual, fine tune them so they are altered exactly for their rider but these had to be general. She <i>hated</i> making them general. It was good that she worked on commissions alone, her best work was done for an intended individual.

She couldn't believe Michael had actually agreed to help her. He was a God send to be sure. With his help this wouldn't take much time at all and she was sure the visuals would keep her for a long time to come. They were tiny little things, smalled than even the first year brooms. The children were younger she supposed, smaller hands meant smaller handle grips. She picked one up gingerly. She half feared it would snap if she rode it but she had made them sturdier than that. The trick would be balancing on the middle.

Alicia looked up when she heard someone else approaching and couldn't help but grin like mad when she saw Michael. "You came!" She ran towards him and gave him the tightest hug she could muster with a broom in her hand. "Have I mentioned I love you?" She stopped short when she stepped back from him, looking him over. "Blimey, you're a bloody giant. This is going to be great," she said, laughing despite herself.

Michael shuffled his last paper from his desk into the out tray before glancing at the clock. Not for the first time, he wondered if he'd have time to stop by his flat before meeting Alicia. Twenty 'til five he thought, leaning back in his chair. He could either try and be productive or he could use that extra twenty minutes to swing by his flat. After turning the thought over in his head, Michael decided to slip out twenty minutes early. Packing up his desk took less time than he thought, and in no time he was glancing outside of his cubicle and striding purposely towards the door.

Reaching his flat, he shrugged out of his robes and suit in exchange for jeans, t-shirt, and trainers. Grabbing his quidditch bag in case they managed a pick up game, he headed out the door and apperated to Hogsmeade. Finding Alicia in the field was fairly easy since he was sure she'd be the only one with so many little brooms. On second thought, they weren't little, they were tiny. Waving a bit in greeting, he dropped his bag and returned the hug, chuckling a bit at her enthusiasm.

"I'm glad I could help, especially if this is the thanks I'll get." he said smiling so she knew that he didn't mean anything by it. "Mum said much the same thing" he replied ruefully. "And yes this should be fun. They're so small, they'll hold me right?" he asked eying the small broom she held in one hand.

"Well, there's more where that came from," she said with a wink, punching him jokingly on the shoulder. It was a shame she had to get on her tiptoes to reach. "What did your mum feed you as a child? I don't not remember you being this tall!" The brooms barely came up to his knees, something that was causing her to smile more and more by the second.

"Don't you trust me? Actually, it's probably better if you don't. No need to worry though, I don't test brooms that I have any doubt in. These are solid, built for learning so they wont go crazy on you." She handed him the broom but couldn't seem to contain her giggles as his hand engulfed the handle.

"On the plus side, we only have fifteen or so to test," she said, kicking off on her first one and letting out a yelp as she early tipped off. The broom was stable, her arse was the the unstable one.

"I look forward to it" he replied with a laugh. "If you ask her, I almost ate them out of house and home." Michael shrugged apologetically, "I hit a growth spurt right around 6th year. They tell me that I'm done for now." he added with a straight face.

Michael nodded as she explained that she did at least do some testing before the riding test. The small bit of confidence he had, all but disappeared when he saw how it fit in his hand. A smile spread across his face as she giggled, after all, he did look silly.

Swinging a leg over the broom he pushed off after Alicia, wobbling as he went. Hovering a few feet off of the ground, he attempted a turn and barely avoided falling. Grabbing on with both hands, he righted himself and steered more cautiously.

"I don't know," she said, giving him a once over, "I say you have a few more inches left to grow. No reason to stop short now, you've been doing so well!"

Alicia couldn't help but beam as she saw her broom fly. It never got old, the sense of accomplishment she got when she saw something she made actually function like it was supposed to. "It suits you. Very understated," she teased, moving her broom to circle him. "You seem to be a bit unsteady though, try to find the center."

He was helping her, she really shouldn't laugh. She just couldn't seem to stop...

Michael chuckled as Alicia flew circles around him. "It suits me eh?" Shifting on the broom, he steered the broom upwards curious to see how high it could go. "Just how high are these supposed to go anyway?" he asked, turning slightly so that he faced her.

"As high as you can go before you pass out from a lack of oxygen. You don't suppose I should have given them a height limit, do you? I am out of my league here."

Alicia flew to the ground, dropping off her tested broom before grabbing another one. She slid on the second broom, hovering a few feet above the air. "I should have grabbed a ball, sorry about that. So tell me about yourself. I want to know all about the person who was willing to help me do this ridiculous task."
