Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Who: Pansy Parkinson, Seth Moon
What: Dinner between friends...and a small child.
When: Wednesday, September 24, 2003; Evening (Backdated)
Where:  Pansy's flat, for now

Pansy was running behind, once again.  She'd planned on getting home by four that afternoon to make sure everything was kosher for that evening.  Liam surprisingly adored Seth and it had been awhile since either of them had seen Seth.  Unfortunately, business had run over and it was 6:15 when she'd arrived home, a mere 45 minutes before Seth would be there.

Pansy had owled Mathilde to have Liam ready by the time she got home, which saved her at least a little bit of time that she could use to get herself ready.  She whipped her hair up in a loose french twist, tendrils of hair falling around her face.  She changed from her work robes into black leggings with a short green dress over top.  She pulled out her long gold medallion with the green emerald her mum and dad had bought her when she'd started Hogwarts so many years ago and used that to finish off her outfit.  For a quick fix, she was pleased with her appearance.

Now, she was sat on the living room floor with Liam doing a puzzle.  Her son was so smart for his age, she thought.  She had a proud smile fixated upon her lips.

The day had been rather chaotic for Seth, filled with interviews and photoshoots, and efforts to get the issue between him and his wife underway so they can just deal with it and get it over with. Despite Marley's best efforts to separate the time consuming events, everything always seemed to land on a Wednesday.

Seth was feeling considerably better today, the headache had somewhat subsided (thanks to a wide array of prescription drugs given to him by his personal healer) but he opted to go with glasses tonight to avoid sticking things into his eyes that may cause more irritation later on. Wearing them always threw Seth off, the weight on the bridge of his nose always felt unfamiliar.

Having just left the last interview for the day, Seth arrived at Pansy's in his brand new, very lavish, French style carriage. Telling his driver, Zeiger, to sit tight, Seth made his way up to the door and rang the door bell.

Upon hearing Seth's arrival, Pansy looked up. She told Liam to stay working on the puzzle while she answered the door. She walked toward the door and opened it, smiling at Seth. She peered past him and smirked.

"You always were one to make an entrance, weren't you, Seth?"

She grinned and then gave him a friendly hug, placing a kiss on his cheek in greeting.

"You look...well," she added. He looked tired, really. She wondered vaguely what was going on in his head. She stepped to the side to welcome him in.

"It would be weird now if I didn't," Seth smiled back as he returned the hug, "Now the question is how do I outdo myself. It's quite the predicament I got myself into." The house behind Pansy look well-lived in, in a good way that Seth never really hoped to achieve. His own manor had always seemed so sterile and impartial, like the owners were prepped to go at anytime. He liked that about Pansy's flat, it was homey.

Looking a little sheepish, Seth made his way passed Pansy and into the house, "You don't have to be tact with me, Pans, I could use a hot shower and about eight hours of unconsciousness." There were still some things that even Seth can't afford with his wealth. "What about you? How was Mr. International Magical Cooperations today?"

Pansy chuckled. "I don't think you can, Seth! But I will think on it and get back to you about what kind of extravagance to show up with next." She smirked and wink. After she closed the door behind them, she lead him toward the living area where Liam was still playing.

She looked over her shoulder, her brow slightly furrowed. "By door is always open to you, Seth. If you need a shower, feel free to use it. And, of course, the guest bed is free if you need to disappear long enough to get a decent sleep."

She wrinkled her nose at the mention of her boss. "He's as much of a prat as ever. I have a good job, but I think he's a git." She chuckled at this and then grinned when they saw Liam. Liam's head shot up and he jumped to his feet to run toward Seth, throwing his little arms around Seth's legs. Pansy turned to Seth. "I think it's safe to say he's happy to see you," she laughed.

And people say that Slytherins did not have hearts, Seth mused to himself, obviously did know any real Slytherins. Smiling, Seth replied, "Thanks, Pans. I just might take you up on that one of these days." The best sleep he ever got was on Pansy's couch when he passed out after playing with Liam the entire day.

"I still think he's trying to get under your skirt," Seth murmured, quiet enough so that Liam did not overhear, before he felt the weight increase on his legs. Seth honestly loved Liam; he was there when the kid was just learning to roll over to when he was talking (word used loosely) for the first time. In some way, Seth felt as if he could care for Liam like he was his own. And people never pegged him to be a kid person. Laughing brightly, Seth bent and picked the boy up easily, swinging him high above his head, "Hey, little man. Oh man, you're getting heavy, you gotta stop eating like your mum," Seth teased, shooting a grin in Pansy's direction. "Did you miss me, buddy?"

Pansy looked at Seth understandingly. "Any time," she replied. She meant that, too. Her door was always open to those who mattered to her, and Seth fell into that category.

She smirked at his off-handed remark and shook her head. With Liam there, she couldn't very well respond with an appropriate slight. The mere thought of her boss going anywhere near her skirt, though, was enough to make her lose her appetite.

She grinned happily at the display between Seth and Liam. She occasionally wished that Liam had a constant father figure in his life. But when she thought about that, the thought was soon evaporated by the thought that she couldn't risk losing her son. She knew if she told anyone Liam's true paternity, she ran the risk of his father wanting to take him and raise him with his family. Pansy was secure in her setup right now. No one was trying to raise her son for her.

She wrinkled her nose at Seth. "It's those pumpkin pasties, I tell you. The boy can't go a day without us making the things." She looked over her shoulder jokingly at her backside. "And I know straight where they're going, too," she playfully pouted.

"Where, mummy?" Liam asked curiously as he hung like a monkey from Seth's shoulders and giggled delightedly.

Pansy shook her head lightly and then sprang to tickle Liam. "Right to here, young man!" She laughed lightheartedly. She loved how happy Liam kept her.

Laughing, Seth blew a raspberry against Liam's cheek, dodging a bit to avoid the kid's flailing limbs. "I can't blame you, I love those pasties too," actually Seth just loved to eat. Period. It was a good thing that his metabolism seemed to work overtime all the time, or he would be unfit to be named the Hunkiest Man this year, "Well, where do you guys want to go eat?"

"Oh," Seth suddenly remembered something, and traded Pansy back her son for the freedom of his hands. Digging into the pocket of coat, Seth drew out a fist-sized figurine of a small desert dragon, carved out of dark purple quartz and lined with pure gold flakes. People who truly befriended Seth had the fringe benefits of receiving some of the most lavish gifts. He held out the little dragon toward Liam, and it gave a soft purr. "Found it while I was in Morocco, it's quite cute, actually."

Pansy laughed as she took Liam back into her arms, the wiggle worm that he was. When she spotted the dragon Seth gave to Liam, she smiled brightly. Seth was really great with Liam. "Wow!" He exclaimed, eyes wide with amazement. "Is a purple dwagon!"

She let Liam down and the boy ran like lightning to put the dragon in his room. She looked over at Seth and smiled gratefully. "That was really nice of you. He loves dragons."

She sat on the arm of the sofa and crossed one leg over the other, genuinely happy that Seth had agreed to dinner with the two of them.

"Anywhere, really. How about that place with the inside toy broom arena? He can play and we can have a drink," she grinned.

While Liam was out of the room she looked at Seth pointedly. "So, Moon, what's going on? You look like you have a lot on your mind."

Seth grinned as he slouched down on the seat beside Pansy, legs stretching out for miles under the coffee table; he never had good posture (and it used to drive his mother crazy). "Yeah, I know," he replied, gaze lingering for a moment at the spot where Liam had occupied only seconds before with a tired expression. Suddenly, like a thought had just occurred to him, Seth sat up and dug into his other coat pocket, "Oh, and here," he held out a small, black envelope that held a limited invitation to the Rome Fashion Show, "I'm going to be walking down the runway-" Seth laughed, "So, if you want, come and check it out."

Relaxing into the sofa, Seth nodded, "Alright, that sounds good." He was glad that Pansy suggested somewhere relatively peaceful, that is, away from the prying eyes of the media. Ever since the entire debacle with the whiney pop princess, then his wife, Seth had gotten no rest.

Seth sighed. There was no way to hide something from Pansy for long; he knew that she wouldn't give up until he spilled everything. "It's just..." He trailed off. There had been media speculations that there was trouble brewing between Moon and Zabini, one of the power marriages of the pureblood circle, although no confirmation. Certainly, nobody had actually mentioned the word "divorce" in context. Apart from Daphne, Pansy would be the other person he'd told. "I'm getting divorced, and it's long. And tedious. And complicated."
