[Owl to Aidan Chambers]

Book

A book is wrapped in heavy brown paper, bound by twine so that the owl can get a good hold of it. It has been magically lightened for the owl, but will be somewhat heavier in the morning. A note addressed to Mr. Chambers is taped on top of the package.

--
The note reads:

Mr. Chambers,
I would hope that you know how to treat a book. I can assure you that I do not take very well to people ruining my property; I will not get into any "should-anything-happen" details as they would sound like threats on a person's life. Should you feel uncertain on that matter, feel free to send it back with Corus. He has been told to wait until you unwrap the package.
Enjoy.
-T.N.

P.S. My apologies if Corus has managed to wound you. He means well.

--

Inside the title page reads, "The Tales of Beedle the Bard." The name of the author is faded, but the rest of the book has bright and vivid moving pictures on the left page and loopy yet stylized text on the right.

Mr. Nott,
I thank you for the kind note and the book. Your insane bird has done no substantial damage to me none that cannot be repaired with a few Healing Spells, anyway and I'm really looking forward to read that book. I shall guard it with my life and keep it on a silk cushion to keep it protected.
Seriously now, Nott. Thanks for the book and yes I was teasing and no I won't let anything happen to it.

- A.C.

Attached to Corus is a book that has obviously been read many times, with small comments scribbled with pencil next to some passages and the occasional sketch.
The book itself is Aidan's copy of Sir Thomas Malory's
'Le mort d'Arthur'</i> in an English translation.
