So you know how my AIM has been down forever? (If you didn't know this, now you do: that's why I'm never on!)
Well I installed more memory in my PC recently, and I just realized I hadn't tried AIM since.
So I just did.
AND IT WORKS, Y'ALL!!
So now I'll be on! And if you want me you can talk to me! And plot with me! And you should!

The insanity continues! This is Beth with character number three (and I'm going to have to ask that people start hurting me if I want more), Mrs. Jane Flyte. Jane was Miss Burney before marrying Richard Flyte, who inherited a property in Ashe Cross a few years back, but she is nothing like either of her sisters. Snobbish and a touch cold and calculating, Jane is determined to see her two younger sisters well married - none of this Vicars and Officers talk, thank you very much - and her husband fully supports and encourages this. They also happen to have a young son, also called Richard, whom they think is the handsomest boy ever to grace the Earth (he's sure to grow up to be the most intelligent and amiable, as well) and who Jane dotes upon endlessly.
So yes, if you think your character could stand being around her let me know, Jane would love to give romantic advice to anyone and everyone and see them married off accordingly. As long as they take care only to develop feelings for those in their economical and social sphere, of course.

Hello everyone! The Beauchamp's dinner was last night, and I wasn't able to post a thread then, since I had a bunch of people over at my apartment watching Northanger Abbey. It was so appropriate. :)
But if I posted a thread for it now, would anyone be interested? I'm dying for Cassandra to get interaction with people outside of her brother.

Hello! It's Beth with character number two and the first Officer in game, Captain Lionel Wayland. Lionel is... the antithesis of Algernon, basically. Middle class, brought up to follow in his father's footsteps and be a soldier, easy going, open, inviting, confident. You get the idea.

Hey, guys. It's time for a modlything update! Try to contain your glee.
Let's start with the sad news: Due to time issues, Sam has had to leave us. Which leaves us Frederick Lesley-less. We'll miss her. :\
On the up side, we do have some new characters, so hit up the friends-add!
On that note, all the activity around here has truly delighted me, and basically, you all rock. However, there are a few characters who...haven't done anything yet. You know who you are. I'm going to do sweeps at the end of the month, so you might want to get on that. Post an open thread! I promise it will get replied to, don't be shy.

...yeah. I fail at making timely introductions. >.>
Anyway. Hello! I'm Beth and I'll be playing Algernon Beauchamp. I'm 24 and a costumer who really needs to start applying to grad schools. I also happen to co-mod a game with the awesomeness that is Sara. ;) Currently I'm working at a fabric/quilting store, which means that I'm generally free after work (Yay jobs you can walk away from at the end of the day!). My AIM is tulippathtohell and I can also be reached on gchat at darklymoonlit.
Algernon is Cassandra's older brother, and as such is also new to the neighborhood. He's a tad antisocial, mostly because he can be a bit stiff and awkward when meeting new people, and he's definitely inclined to brooding. All in all he's nowhere near as dashing and appealing as the officers, but he's rich and single and did I mention rich? New money still spends. He fell in love with a girl his parents wouldn't have approved of at university and attempted to convince her to elope with him (Scandalous!). She denied him and he's still nursing the wounds, though he's certainly secretive about the entire affair - not even Cassandra knows the entire story. At the moment the Beauchamp siblings are getting to know each other better (he's sixteen years her elder so the two never had a great deal of interaction as adults until now) as Cassandra attempts to push Algernon out into society and find him a good match. Algernon is, however, very protective of his sister. He knows what men are capable of and he takes his responsibility to care for Cassandra very seriously.
Umm... yeah. The end! I'm excited to get into the game (now that I no longer feel like death) and meet you all.

Hi all! This is Holly, Henry's player, and I wanted to introduce my second character, Miss Anne Baker.
Anne is the oldest of the two Baker sisters, and is currently trying to hold things together after their father's death left them virtually penniless.

I'm so excited about playing in this game, I think it will be alot of fun, so if anyone wants to do anything, just let me know. Hi everyone! I'm Johnny Come Lately, er rather, Kate. And I totally thought I posted this days ago. Anyway, here with me is Charlotte Burney. She's Meg's older sister who's been out in society for a couple years now. A few years ago, she had really high prospects - an engagement to a naval officer! They were really well-matched; he was entirely delighted with her vivaciousness and playfulness. They promised to be a really happy couple, but he was pulled away to his duties. Unfortunately, he was killed at sea, and she was completely devastated - naturally. So, for the last two years, Charlotte has been a bit of a Debbie Downer. However, two years is a long time to mourn, so she's finally getting back into the scene with a smile on her face! Yay for Charlotte! There's more information about this former happy-go-lucky girl in her journal.

Hi all! I just wanted to say that if anyone wants to plot or plan anything, I'm your girl. I know I already introduced myself, but I just wanted to suggest maybe we could have some sort of chat at a time that's convenient for people? I'm on now, and most evenings if anyone wants to get acquainted. I know I saw someone mentioned something about an assembly soon, and of course there can always be excursions into the countryside in honour of the newcomers and all sorts of excitement.
I may put a post up of Mr. Waltham in the village at one of the local merchants soon, or if someone would like to interact with him, just let me know!

Hihi! I'm Megan, and I have Felicity Clarke. I would have said this days ago, but by blast I kept being distracted by Halloween plans. I warn you, this month I will be very crazy because I was psycho enough to sign up for NaNoWriMo this year, but I will still be around plenty because I have a procrastination habit! XD My AIM (and NaNousername, if by-chance any of you are doing it) is taffy pearls, where I am almost always available, though more than likely invisible. Hello Ladies and Gentlemen! Allow me to introduce the Reverend Mr. Henry Waltham. Henry is the sole member of the clergy in Ashe Cross, and, while he takes his duties quite seriously, is, perhaps, not quite as interested in romance as the ladies of the village would prefer.
Kindhearted, bookish, and generous, Henry participates in society as much as he is expected to, but no more, and while he does not frown on social frivolities, he does feel they may be a trifle too overdone when so many in the neighbourhood are forced to go without.

Oh hello there everyone! I figured, since I finally realized that the last modly announcement was sent to my spambox (sigh) and that this thing is up and rolling (almost) I figured I'd throw an introduction out into the open blue. My name's Kristen- I'm 19, currently an English major at university. I'm from the states but for the next, oh, six-seven months I'll be in England doing a year abroad. I love school-- seriously, I go a little insane over the summer--, cups of hot tea, running around in the rain, and trying not to make a complete fool of myself. This las thing I tend to fail miserably at.
Anyways, enough about me. I've got a Miss Catherine Baker here to play. She's eighteen years old and currently despising being a 'charity case' of the neighbourhood. Her father died about six months back, leaving her and her spinster sister, Anne, in debt, which has been quite a change from the life she had before with nice dresses and lots of parties and having her father around. She's quite a nice girl, if not a bit outspoken on certain topics. Honestly, she has a lot of foot-in-mouth moments that aren't quite ladylike at all. Plus she's got a temper like no other.

Hello! I'm Eronn, and I bring you Cassandra Beauchamp. I'm 24, and I am a huge Jane Austen nut. I work at a non-profit in DC, but I'm currently looking into going to grad school to become a librarian. Now, for Cassandra! She is brand new to the neighbourhood, along with her older brother. She's rich and accomplished, but otherwise people probably wouldn't know much about her at first. At heart, she's a people-pleaser. Oh, and she adores fashion. She tries not to be ridiculous about it, but you can bet that every item of clothing she wears is perfectly tailored and made from the finest materials.
Beth, I would love to you at some point about her relationship with Algernon. I've put in her profile that right now she's more focused on finding the right girl for Algernon rather than the right man for herself, but otherwise I am completely open to any ideas/plotting.
I am very excited for the game to start, and look forward to playing with you all!

Hey everyone! I'm Elisa and I play Arabella Lesley, Frederick's little sister and resident noble's daughter of the town. She herself is not like many of the other ladies though -- she has a pretty wicked poker face and is good at the whole "smile like I love you" business, though she can't actually hold her tongue so the moment she opens her mouth her true feelings come out. She's slightly arrogant, as expected of a woman of her standing, but in all she's really just in it for the fun. Social gatherings tend to bore her, though for now her interest has been held -- the debuts and gatherings of young people trying to court each other are much different from the stiffy ones her parents took her to. She's also rather tomboyish in the sense that she likes shooting and horseback riding, but again, she's only in it for the fun and thrill. I'm sure her parents have gone to some effort to cover up her boyish sensibilities, though anything can happen ;)

I'm Sara, aka the creator/modlything of Vanities and Virtues, aka the person who has been obnoxiously emailing you startup updates. I'm 21, I work somewhere between part and full time at Starbucks, I was an English major before deciding a year ago to take some time off (which has, incidentally, afforded me all this time to create Jane Austen Inspired RPGs, which I think should count toward a degree given how incredibly dorky and English Majory it is) and my AIM SN is SavageFlight, which would be decidedly more helpful to you if AIM would stop crashing my CPU. She doesn't actually realize the latter possibility, however, and the dearest wish of her heart is to spend a season in Town. Boys, if she happens to drop her glove, please don't bend to pick it up for her- she's apt to fall in love with you instantly if you do so. But she means well. And she doesn't have a vain or malicious bone in her body, so there's that.
Plus she's pretty darn cute.

Hey guys, I just wanted to say hello and maybe get some plotting plans going. My name's Sam and I bring Mr Frederick Lesley, dandy and city boy, come home to Ashe Cross to wait for that estate his mother is supposed to pass on to him on his 25th birthday. He comes off as a vain, buffoonish idiot who is mostly concerned with clothes, Town gossip, and opera dancers. He is charming and droll and is prone to faddish affectations (Byronic haircuts, a lorgnette, a snuffbox collection, etc). He has not been resident at the Abbey for years, and usually does not visit Ashe Cross for long periods of time, but he is a fixture in London and the Season.
I don't really have any concrete ideas, except I have a feeling that he and his sister Arabella are going to be partners-in-crime. :)
