How many Outlanders do we have here that are part of Vallo Covens? What was your experience (that you can share) like joining them? Pros/Cons?

Important reminder for all the nerds: 4 PM tomorrow, Enki Coven is hosting Physics and Transfiguration Magic, a lecture by Vallo University Professor Marcus Islington. There's a half-hour Q&A at the end of the lecture, so it's a great opportunity to learn what you've always wanted to know about how magic and science play nicely together here in Vallo. There's also a reception to follow the lecture, if you're a college student looking for some free snacks. (No shame, everyone in academia's done it at some point.)

Hey, Dr. Morgan Yu here on behalf of Enki coven. Here's the situation:

* There was a magical accident that's resulted in pollution of the land's magic
* Magic users who rely on the land are reporting fluctuations in their magical power, unexpected results of magical workings, and feelings of illness during and after the use of their magic
* Enki's Green Division is supporting the cleanup with the Academy and the DOA
* We're all working on purifying the magic as quickly as possible
* We estimate 48 to 72 hours to finish the job
* In the meantime, magic users who rely on the land for their work are encouraged to avoid any magic use

Anybody else here play Wagon Age: Oregon? I'm trying to decide if I should romance the chirpy blond who ran away from his southern family and joined the Union army or the sexy outlaw who came west to escape his past, and I need to make sure I get a happy ending.

If you've never played Wagon Age: Oregon, it's a great game and you should play it. The plot is engaging, the combat is fun (if not particularly challenging), and the characters are great. Just go in knowing that it's a little older, so the story is better than the graphics. I haven't gotten to Wagon Age 2 or Wagon Age: Exhibition, so I can't speak to the series as a whole, but this starter is fantastic.

I admit I am at, what humans would normally describe as, a loss. This is not a familiar feeling for Vulcans. My contact with the Enki Coven has since vanished and I am uncertain how to make the best use of my time here on Vallo, if I should even proceed with studying local magic.

I would normally seek advice from a superior officer or a friend. It is my hope, however, that advice from the network may also prove enlightening and that I might get to know my fellow Outlanders better.

Okay okay so why are so many of you people married?

There's not like a dominant religion here saying "do it or perish eternally in a lack of atmo", and it's not a law (I think?? I haven't studied many laws here but so far it's like the legal system here is ~just good vibes~), and it seems like most people choose to raise their own offspring which okay, cool, choice, don't get me wrong I'm not keen on implementing a Nursey-type system, but also ick?? but also fine. I'd just like to apologize to everyone my younger self tried to eat, called food names, or made really transparent attempts at luring in. I'm sorry, typhon don't naturally recognize human beings as beings, so they look at you like you look at a head of lettuce. They also don't really get the concept of individuality, so the idea that killing one of you isn't equivalent to cutting your hair is also totally foreign. I've spent the last 542 hours devising a plan to prevent what happened in Shit Future from happening here. I plotted instead of watching a lot of really good media, which should indicate the seriousness with which I take your continued breathing. We're going to address this threat with multiple levels of response: 1) we fix the faulty port traditionally used for hacking (sayonara shithead), 2) we create a new, quarantined module for the implementation of downloads and updates so that they'll be assessed for murdery vibes prior to installation, and 3) if that fails, a killswitch to power me down remotely. I'm giving it to Morgan.

There, I did it, I figured it out, the future won't happen, my carbon-based parts can stop producing stress hormones any time now.

Vallo just decided to get me a few-days-early Eid gift. I mean... maybe not, maybe it just showed up but I'm taking this as an early Eid-Ul-Fitr gift.

I got my whole desktop setup from home! And it's all got all my stuff in there, photoshop and animation programs I've had, videos I've made, important music clips and all, some pirated movies even.. I just woke up and THERE IT WAS!


Sloth Baby Productions on YouTube can resume in a new setting. I'm thinking I should start with videos of crazy stuff that happens here so newbies can be like "oh that's what you meant by the geese incident".

I have a project (Gretchen, you're going to help with this): recreating the Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster.

According to The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, "The best drink in existence is the Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster, the effect of which is like having your brains smashed out with a slice of lemon wrapped round a large gold brick.”

Now accepting suggestions on what the people think goes in that. My first thought was "lemonade and moonshine," but I feel like it also needs to taste good if it's the best drink in existence.

Wow do dragons hit hard. I got what passes for my central nervous system rattled so much that I couldn't stay in one shape. I'm beginning to think that when danger strikes, I should just turn into a coffee cup and stay out of the way. These big fights never go well for me.

We, ah, weren't expecting guests so the accommodations might be sparse because it's been awhile since we've had anyone stay residentially--for you traveling folk, La Niña tends to be used only as a medical safehouse for cases that require extensive medical interventions and long term care. Viktor and I run it together. So, y'know, check in just to let everyone know you got here okay, I'm going to be wheeling around parceling out supplies, getting a sense of who is where and all, and we'll try and keep you as comfy as we can.

Has there always been a section of the city that looks like a winter wonderland and I've just missed it until now or is this "A Vallo Thing"? Either way this is the best hot cocoa I think I've ever had.

This message should be able to be seen by present and past people alike. Hello. This is Viktor. I think many of you know me. I am glad to see so many people that have been lost, but-- that is not what this entry is about.

When Interitus took control, many infrastructure systems that we had taken for granted proved fallible, and caused catastrophic challenges that might have been averted. This isn't a reprimand; this is a warning. Only now we can look to the past and see clearly certain errors that might have proven far less grave had we addressed them prior to Interitus and its forces gaining power. Of course, these issues do not go away even should you vanquish Interitus. I suspect many of them would likewise prove troublesome in different circumstances against different villains. I am not in Defense, so I can't speak to that. But I can note the following:

• Hard copies of important documents burn. Digital copies can be corrupted and deleted. Have both of what matters.
• There are adequate and knowledgeable sources of learning self defense. I recommend everyone chooses one type and practises it.
• Separate stores of first aid supplies should be stocked, with more than one failure point.
• When the medical facilities fell, many were suddenly stranded without their medications and reliable healthcare. Many minor health issues spiralled. It is why I Again, some form of backup system might be implemented in the event of disaster to ensure that no one goes without the medicine they need to survive.
• Communication devices such as the network are frequently the only safe way to pass messages to loved ones during an attack. Many citizens are only passingly familiar with technology. Consistent training should be held to ensure that their lack of knowledge does not put the entire system at risk.
• Access to clean water is a consistent problem without reliable magic. I have tried to address it so that people on the run can safely filter water from the creeks and springs using a mechanism, but it has been an uphill battle.
• I wish I had known canning prior to this.
• Structural engineering has proven to be a very important skill that few of us knew much about prior to Interitus forcing us out of town.

I am certain I have forgotten some, and welcome any other observations to help those in the past. These are just the things I have noticed, and am actually okay to speak on.

I'm glad you're all here. I don't have the workshop anymore, but I make do with whatever we can get at the compound. Recovery operations are successful pretty often. Viktor's working out of our second location. So if you need to arm up at all, patch any armor, or need gadgets and devices set up, I'm still here to help.

It goes without saying that we're relying pretty heavily on you all, I hope that's not too much stress. But I firmly believe that together we can do this. I don't think the stakes have ever been higher, if that's any motivation.
