I have to know a couple of things: first, where did this whole idea of kissing someone at midnight of New Year's come from? How did it practically become mandatory to a point at which people think its pathetic NOT to kiss someone then? Like Valentine's Day is just around the corner, some of us don't need that much of an early reminder of our singledom.

Second, what are the most unconventional and weirdest resolutions you can think of? I'm trying to get creative here when people decide to ask the bartender what they picked.

I was unaware of this tradition until this past week, but it appears to be something that is considered good luck.

In that case, I hope the hours AFTER midnight count too.

It would seem they do, as I am certain that most folks would consider that a lucky way to begin another year.

What's Asgardian New Year tradition?

We do not have a tradition for that holiday, however we do celebrate what would be considered the equivalent of Yule.

Does it involve a whole lot of drinking?

Absolutely. Drinking is one of the many things we do well.

And you hardly get affected by what's here.

That depends on who's made it. The drinks at Torunn's meadery do the trick well enough.

So essentially, if it does the trick for you, I think one drink would put an average human being into a coma.

It is perhaps not quite that potent.
