Dex had found himself at Faber after a quick coffee run for Lardo to get the key so that he could access his equipment - mostly his skates, not really in the right mindset for everything else. It wasn't like there was anything bad - honestly, if this place was bad he could probably come to grips with it a little easier and start devising some kind of attempt at an escape plan (that likely wouldn't work), but the issue was that it wasn't. His friends had already been here for long enough to start arranging a wedding and Nursey- was in a play, which he'd been invited to come along to. He planned on it but jesus, he needed to clear his head or something before he went absolutely insane and so he'd found himself at a very empty-looking Faber, feeling like he was trespassing in a way that Murray and Hall would come yelling at him any moment but obviously, they didn't. They weren't here, it was just their little gang and this was theirs on the basis that it was from their home.
A different universe. He laced his skates up tightly and tapped the toes on the floor, a little routine to make sure they were on soundly before he stepped over the boards and on the ice, skating loose laps around the rink with what felt like a permanent frown on his face. This place wasn't bad. From what it sounded like, he could do pretty much anything here - be pretty much anyone, which opened up a lot of terrifying opportunities for self discovery and all that crap that he wasn't entirely sure he was prepared for. He knew he wasn't straight - parroting everything his dad, brothers and his uncle had said to him over the years didn't change anything and him being good at 'manly' things like fixing shit and hockey and piloting a boat didn't change the fact that he happened to really like baking and, apparently, boys. He obviously had no issue with that for others - he was happier for Bitty and Jack than he thought he'd be, actually. He'd never gone through the whole 'close friends getting married' thing and it was heartwarming to see, but. Now he didn't have to worry he was somehow talking himself into worrying more and he groaned, resting his forehead on the sheets for a moment before resuming his laps.
