Jo's second round at Vallo is started with a drink

Returning to Vallo was one thing that Jo never thought would happen, if she were being honest with herself. Of course, in her line of work, expecting the unexpected was kind of a requirement. So she should have expected something along the same lines, shouldn't she have? And then, to learn that there had been another version of her here... well, that was going to take some getting used to. Her first thought would have been doppelganger or skinwalker, but in this place, she knew the rules were a little different. Whoever this version of her had been, Jo was fairly certain she was going to be fielding questions and pointing out that some scenarios weren't her.
Wynonna had asked her out to this place — thankfully, this one was still familiar — but it would appear that she beat her here. So, while she waited, Jo settled at the bar and ordered a neat whiskey. She needed the strength, the burn. And the company that was coming was definitely needed if only to catch her up comfortably without any awkwardness (she hoped).
Once her drink was placed in front of her, she asked the guy to leave the bottle and handed him her card. Better to just go ahead and have it on hand than not. Kind of sucked that Dean didn't want to see her, but then again, hadn't he just seen her? More than likely. Things were different here for other people than they were for her. For everyone here, they'd just seen Jo Harvelle. It hadn't been two months for them.
Tossing back her first glass, Jo looked around the bar to see who else might be here that she knew. There were some new faces, some she vaguely remembered. She just hoped Wynonna got here sooner rather than later. Then, maybe she could distract herself from the facts that there was so much that had changed in two months...
And that she had no memory of where she'd been in the time she was gone.
