Luke Skywalker & Han Solo
The truth of the matter was that it was easier to get over Han Solo when he wasn’t around... because Luke was an idiot and was either in love with or had a crush on a man he’d call family some day.
WHAT:Luke's sad. He remedies that by bothering Han
WHERE: Han's apartment
WHEN: October 3
WARNINGS:TBD
STATUS: In Progress

Luke had been in Vallo for five months. He’d spent a lot of that time trying to figure out where he fit in and, maybe, pining over someone who wasn’t there. He hadn’t admitted that to anyone though, he was sure, Stan knew. He had paused those holos of his life to rant about Han Solo. There was no way Stan didn’t know. The holos, however, had revealed a few horrible truths about his family and the father he’d idolized for so much of his life. It had also shown him that there was no sense in pining over Han. That charming disaster of a smuggler was meant for Leia and Luke… well, he supposed he was okay with that. He could see it even now. Maybe the two argued and bickered but there was the start of genuine care and affection beneath it all. It hadn’t hurt to see but it had reinforced the idea that he needed to move on. He needed to let go and find someone new.

It had actually seemed easy enough before Han had appeared. There were a number of handsome men around, there was speed dating, and then there was Todd. He was nice, he was warm, he was magic, and he didn’t seem to mind R2 going to him to rant about Luke. He was privy to certain aspects of Luke’s life and personality that not many others were. He’d enjoyed talking to the other men he’d been paired up with but he couldn’t help thinking most of them already had an eye for someone else. Todd, however, seemed genuinely happy to see him. Maybe it would’ve been the start to something if whatever pulled them into this place hadn’t decided to throw him for a loop.

The truth of the matter was that it was easier to get over Han Solo when he wasn’t around. When he was around, Luke was always going to seek him out and try to get under his skin. He was going to tease the older man and sort of orbit around him when they were trying to talk to other people. He was going to drag him to parties and stay entirely too close because Luke was an idiot and was either in love with or had a crush on a man he’d call family some day. The idea didn’t hurt that much but now that Todd had disappeared the idea that he should move on and let go had sort of gone up in flames. Add to that the fact that he hadn’t dealt with or talked to anyone about what he learned about his father and everything just felt horrible.

So Luke did what he assumed he was always going to do when things felt like too much: he tried to avoid those feelings. When that didn't work, however, he sought out Han. He left the temple early in the morning and found himself at the apartments, knocking on the older man’s door. He didn’t even think about the time and whether or not Han would be up until he was already there and had already knocked.
