Greetings. My name is Thurvishar D'Lorus. After performing a perfunctory sweep of names on your compiled list I am confident in saying that there is no one here from my world, but if I'm incorrect, I beg your forgiveness. I'm loathe to sum up myself but in short: I am a wizard, and High Lord to the Noble House of Binders - paper, histories, archives, mapmaking, records, you get the idea. In my spare time, I work as the advisor to Empress Tyentso (long may she reign) and get dragged into near-death political deathtraps by my friends whose enthusiasm for life often outpaces their capacity for common sense. This isn't my first alternate dimension, nor will it likely be my last, but I do have three questions here that I would greatly appreciate a response:

  • I wonder if there has been any study of how time moves in comparison to that of the homeworlds? This notion concerns me greatly, as we are on a-- we'll call it abbreviated -- schedule back home before, in short, total devastation and unending apocalypse strikes, and I would really very much like to avoid all of that, and:

  • Has anyone else had their magical abilities dampened? I am missing a power that was second nature back home, and it seems to be much weakened here, and finally:

  • I could use the spiciest curry on saag that Vallo could provide me with. Please, I implore you: blow my head off.
Thank you for any information you can provide.

Do you worship the goddess of death?

Ahh--- no. Some certainly do, but she has never been my patron Goddess.

Those who die here - are they just not Returned, or...? I suppose I should be more specific. You see, in my world, souls who die generally rest in the Land of Peace until they are ready to be reincarnated. However, some people who die unjustly are Returned to their own lives and memories and body by the goddess of Death. It's not--- typical? But common enough. Living without a way to be Returned strikes me as very-- final.

I have a feeling reincarnation is something that happens here with everything being part of Vallo, but IDK if that's how it works for Outlanders here. Which is what we all are that aren't from here.

None of us have died yet.

You might be able to be brought back from the dead here though. I can do that and maybe some others can too. At least back home. I haven't tried it here since none of us have died.

This being brought back from the dead wouldn't happen to involve a hefty price to pay, would it? Necromancy is practiced back home, of course, but it's-- not ideal. At least back home, only Thaena was able to do it in a way that there was no corresponding cost.

None for me. Death is kind of one of my domains since I'm the daughter of the guy who runs Hell aka the Land of Not Having Any Peace While Dead.

Well. This is awkward. We may be foresworn enemies or reluctant allies depending upon your feelings re: apocalypses (I am in fact friends with a few ___ of our version of hell).

I like my home world and my friends in it so I would rather it not be overrun by demons. Plus my father is an asshole so I've helped stop the apocalypse like three times in my world. The version here is really cool though.

So I guess it depends on if you're trying to start it or stop it. Though eh, can't do either here really.

Stop it, in my case. One of my closest friends is a partial demon and a daughter of hell, but she is, thankfully, on our side rather than opposing us. I am sorry to hear about your father, although I've found that unlikeable family members is a constant in many worlds.

It seems to be one of those universal truths: sucky family members. Is your friend being forced to take over it and become queen?

Hilariously enough, different friend - Janel is our demon ally. Kihrin is the one with the unfortunate counterpart trying to consume the world. Then there's Teraeth, the son of Death, and... just me. Real crack team against the apocalypse, I assure you.

It always helps to beat the apocalypse if your friends have your back. Or at least that's what I've found. Just keep having their back.

It's about all we've got at this point. If possible, I intend to use the wellspring of information here to troubleshoot the issue. Even if I don't remember my time here, perhaps something shall inspire something more solid than mere hope.

Don't discount hope though. It's amazing what a little bit of that can actually help you do.

I think I'll agree with you once I've gotten some sleep.

Sleep helps unless you have nightm. So hopefully you manage some soon.
