Alright, you lot. Satinalia begins on the 1st of November - I'm here to tell you a bit more about it and encourage you to attend for at least one of the nights (especially Saturday the 7th, because that's a wedding and my dashing Diego is walking his sister down the aisle and his bum is going to look so good in whatever trousers he wears).

Thedas has two moons, you see. One of the moons is called Satina which is where Satinalia gets its name from. It was originally a festival that was dedicated to an Old God of Chaos, but now is more associated with the moon and always occurs at the beginning of Umbralis, which is November to you all (our calendar is quite different - time telling, in Thedas, is also a bit strange and dwarven clocks are really the only sort of clocks around). Wearing masks is very much a thing for it though, hence why all nights are masquerade-ey in nature.

One of the other traditions is electing a Town Fool to set fun, silly rules for that time. Our fool this go at it will be Toph Beifong, so starting November 1st - her laws are valid!

Heads up that the inflatable dragons the Halloween store on 8th Ave and 23rd St had up are now fairly sentient. Do not recommend going by with children as I had to break my own's heart by telling him no he can't take the purple one up on the offer for a ride.

I'm having a rough fuckin month. Just tripped and landed on the lumber, broke it right in two. Just got it from home last month, too. Wait, waaait. Magic's a thing. Can anyone say a few words and put this thing back together like new?

Gotta say. Halloween season in all it's cemetery and ghost-related glory is a whole lot stranger once you've already died.

Either today's just weird or this place is just out to get on my nerves. First my breakfast burrito ended up being vegan and they remade it three times with the same result so now I guess I just have apologies and breakfast burritos I didn't want. People have also been in a habit of singing Disney songs to me everywhere I go. Off key. It's annoying enough with the singing, but then you have to sing off key? And I think I've dropped my keys in just about every puddle or grate, so thank the asshole gods for magic, I guess.

Is this some sick joke I wasn't in on at the beginning of the day?

Maybe this place isn't so bad.

This morning a mystery person purchased an additional coffee for me, then my more trouble making students decided not to make trouble, and finally, when I got home, there was a stack of books that I last saw in the restricted area of the Marble Tomes were sitting innocuously on my desk, as though they belonged there.

I am sure it is a streak of luck that is just coincidence, but it has made for a rather delightful day.
