We went camping this weekend, managing to surprise Blue at approximately 6am in the morning and not get stabbed for it, which I think says a lot about how lucky Henry and I are. There was adventure, early mornings, forgetting bug spray and having to slather ourselves in a strange natural remedy that stunk to high heaven, but there isn't anyone else I would've rather done it with. Henry and I are unfairly blessed with her and her fierce determination, unwavering loyalty and desire to make the world a better place.

Happy Birthday, Blue Sargent. Love you. (Henry said to tell you not to come "at" (that part was specifically important??) us for the collage of pictures. We couldn't decide so everyone gets to appreciate many.)

Given that I come from a different time and place than our rather technologically advanced (at least in my view) island, I have been attempting to learn as much as I can about my surroundings, the cuisine especially. I have seen donuts and I have seen hamburgers, but there are some places that offer these two things together, as if a glazed donut is a substitute for actual bread and I don't...understand. That or why some taco shells are made of crunchy orange dust. I assume someone ought to be able to explain. Or argue why any of this would be a good idea.

But it's pleasant to have a purpose, at least - I will be teaching Necromancy at one of the magic schools here, which I'm certain will be a delightful experience. Far better than dealing with politics back home - you've got to have eyes in your front and back, so as to anticipate knives coming from any angle.

I'm going to take my motorcycle and just go for a weekend drive.

My little brother wants everyone to know that if you would like to join him in wearing a flower crown he would be happy to make you one. You can then join the kingdom of flowers.

I found a couple of books with some write ups on properties of local plants that looked interesting. I borrowed them for you, they're on the nightstand.

In sentences I never thought I would string together, I saw a pack of oddly large mushrooms meandering about in the forest while I was out this morning. It felt more Feywild than I was prepared to deal with before coffee so I gave a wide berth, but apparently those exist.

The only comfort I can take is that they're not six feet tall mushroom headed monstrosities wearing paramilitary uniforms. The movie is noncanonical confirmed.

Does anyone with actual functioning eyes have a visual on the mushrooms, and does anyone recognize them? Or can you get me an image, so I can do a search. I hate this

The walking mushrooms in the forest are Goombas, from Nintendo video games. They're not friendly, but can be stopped by stomping on them. Please be careful if you're planning to go out and live your video game dreams despite that being a bad idea.

I want to try doing both Geliara and the school my aunt is opening so I need to give up doing something else. And I kind of don't want to give up hanging out with my friends, you know? If you need me to stay on a little longer I can swing it for a bit!

So I was out exploring and I found this weird...dog thing? Fox? Cat? I'm not sure. And it just started following me around and I think I own a weird dog-fox-cat-thing now?
