You know, it's a shame that the Olympics are over. That was the one thing we could all agree upon watching at the station.

Congratulations, by the way, to all the Olympians on the Valarnet. You had some very invested firefighters cheering you on.

It just occurred to me that these little fuzzy things would make nice winter gloves or coats. Unless they become a protected species. But I don't think they will.

So, yes, I propose we use these little ones for lining instead of cute little bunny rabbits.

Is it considered wrong that I am thinking of cooking our new furry overlords to see if they make acceptable meals? Because if they did...I think we have enough of them that homeless kids at least could have several meals that do consist of protein, and they would probably taste better than the stuff available to them now. I wonder what one could serve them with though. Might have to open up a cookery booke and see what's available historically.

...Also, word's gone through the circles of gossip that a fellow SCAdian was pretty badly hurt in the Earthquake we just had. I'm lucky at a time like this that the people that I care about most are safe and well away from here, aside the guys at the station, and we're all in okay shape except Captain Rogers but still...it kind of shakes you knowing things like that.

If everybody could take a second to wish Roy Harper well, and hey, the Captain too, because those burns look pretty painful even if they aren't quite third degree, that would be great. They both post here so you probably at least know them a little.

Everybody else? I hope that you're staying safe too. And if you don't want your fuzzies, you're welcome to see what I can try to come up with making in my roundabout terrible cook fashion of course.

Hello there, valar net! Guess what tastes like chicken, only slightly spongier, after you skin a bunch of them, rip the nasty poop shoot parts out, and deep fry them?

Hairy critters!

The others that I've found, I done added to jambalaya after properly seasoning them up and they aren't half bad! Sure, everything tastes like chicken, they say. But in some cases, it's the truth. Like this case! :D

One downside is that I think I ate Baby. But Baby was delicious and kept MAKING babies, so...c'est la vie. Got to get rid of them somehow.

I might also have drank a few too many beers during my culinary adventure.

...

To my housemates? Enjoy. There's leftovers in the fridge.

Quit my job today. That's the end of that and it was my decision so when I wake up tomorrow morning and regret its on me.

Maybe I'll start working out full time. Bulk out enough to wear the suit of armor that appeared on the couch one day. Yeah. Maybe.

You know, every time a fella says something like 'now I've seen it all,' life comes along to make him look like the damn fool he is. Word to the wise? Don't jinx yourselves. Just don't. You'll be thanking your stars when some other idiot has to corral an ostrich on the freeway at three in the morning.

Good shift at work? Try GREAT shift at work. I'm not supposed to LIKE it when we get a call, but I still like being able to do things, help people when they need it, try to save as much of their lives as we can after we get them out. I like it. I actually love it.

It's worth taking the risks, you know? Worth the asskicking I'm going to get later for not immediately stepping back when there were still family pets inside. I might have put myself in danger, and I might be getting in trouble, but I still got the hamsters out, and into those kids' hands, and THEY were happy, even if everybody else looked a little concerned. We couldn't go without TRYING, and anyway, it didn't collapse until I was mostly outside.

Worth being in trouble over? SO worth being in trouble over.
