Rodeos are fun. But my trainer had me compete in a few hunter classes this past weekend. Let me tell you, I think I fell in love with jumping. There's nothing quite like soaring over jumps. (okay so they're small right now but still).

In crazy related news - someone busted up a fence line on the farm. If I find who did it I will make you hurt. Also. I had one more of those "dreams". I am not really sure how to handle the time jump in them. We went from childhood to... zombie apocalypse. Which was fine. I guess. Nothing really scary happened in them until one of my childhood friends died.

Uh. Yeah okay. I'm not cool with these dreams.

I love when three horses decide throwing shoes is the best idea ever. No, really, I love calling the farrier on a Sunday. I really should learn to do this myself. You'd think they were ganging up on me. Honestly, I need a drink today. After I shell out way too much money for a Sunday fix job.

I figured I'd say hi, since my sister works for you, we met once and all that.

It seems I've joined the ranks of dreamers in this place. I am -- uncertain how I feel about this.

To begin with, my parents and I were poor. I mean -- we weren't well off in this life, either, but in these dreams it was all rather Dickensian. My mother was a washerwoman and my father was a fisherman (though he died while I was very young). I'm shocked I wasn't a chimney sweep.

After mother's death, a strange woman came to visit me. An old friend of my mother's, it seemed. She claimed that my mother was actually a disinherited heiress to the most wealthy and influential family in London, and that I was eighth in line to be an earl! How fantastic would that be?

I contacted the family to let them know of my existence, and rushed off to tell my apparent paramour. Who is -- lovely, and very beautiful, but also exceedingly aware of her beauty.

She of course laughed me off, as well as what seemed the latest in a long line of marriage proposals. She didn't even touch the chocolates I'd brought her.

To add insult to injury, a member of the family wrote back and told me he'd never heard of my mother, and to never contact them again.

My my, this is all very complicated. I wish my dream self luck in his venture to becoming earl, I suppose.

Cleaned up two stalls in the barn today that I'd used as storage. Have two client horses moving in. Love things like this. Makes my day worth it!

Next week I'm off to a rodeo. Anyone bored and want to come with? I promise sexy cowboys for the ladies, and cowgirls for the men, seriously, it's a packed event and ridiculous amounts of fun. I might be a smidge lonely going by myself again.

My Christmas wish lists consists of people learning to drive in the snow.

If someone wanted to, they could make some serious money teaching this very valuable skill that has made the last week much longer than it needed to be.

In other news, an ex-girlfriend called and asked if I had one of her sweaters from six months ago, after she made sure she took all of her shit out when she left in the first place.

All of my horses have seen snow at least once in their lives, mostly due to travel for rodeos and clinics, but they just aren't sure what to make of it with it in their own backyard. The youngest is frolicking through it and having a blast, one of the older mares is watching with disdain, but she's allowed to look grumpy. She never liked being out east during the winter.

Me? I'm trying to remember to hatchet the water troughs and dig out everyone's blankets. They're in a trunk in the attic because I hadn't planned on going east this winter for any clinics, so I didn't think I needed them. I guess I shouldn't have done that.

Who would have guessed snow here!

Thanksgiving plans are really simple. I'm working. Done. I volunteered

I don't really have family I want to see anyway.

I've got my turkey ready for next week, as well as a ton of sides. I look forward to cooking again although I wish we had more people to come over. Oh well. On top of cooking I do have a barn full of horses to care for and some other animals, so I suppose only a small group coming over isn't bad - I don't have time to have the house look sparkling for visitors.

What are other peoples' plans?

Rodeos. Up at the crack of dawn. Working from sunup to dusk. Competing under the lights. Doing it again in another city the next day. So glad to be home, though. It was a fun week on the road but I am pretty sure I'm gonna sleep for a few days.

Except I won't. I'll be up at sunrise tomorrow, mucking stalls and riding, I have my own training to attend to and then lessons to teach. But a couple of my 4-Hers are competing in a gymkhana this weekend. Can't wait to watch and cheer them on.

Everyone's bedded in for the night, tacks' cleaned and put away and awards are tucked up in the case. Belt buckles on the wall. It was a good week, I won't lie.

I'm pretty sure that Knott's Scary Farm was a BAD idea. All I'm doing now is seeing zombies EVERYWHERE, and they're scary enough in person. I don't need them in my head.

Taking time to sit down at a computer long enough to poke through this network my sister told me about is interesting. I am usually on the busy side but it's nice to have a way to meet other people and all that.

So hello, I'm Maggie Greene. And uh, I have my own farm? I guess that's interesting enough.

You know if I never see another farm or smell another horse it'll be too soon. I'm not sure city smell much of an improvement though..

Apparently I'm headed to New Port Harbor high, anyone else going there?
