No sooner am I made Lord of the Sith, than Darth Thanaton of the Dark Council wants me dead because he sees my views as a threat. He very nearly succeeds by having a lacky lay a trap, except my people manage to get me out. In need of more power if I've a chance to survive, let alone make change in the Empire, I learn of a ritual that would make me strong enough to take this man on and defeat him. It's called "Force Walking" and involves communing with the ghosts of long dead Sith Lords, and in fact binding their restless ghosts to the living in order to harness their power.

This will surely go well.

In other news, I have my first apprentice! A Togruta padawan named Ashara Zavros. A former Jedi! How marvelous.

Things move fast for myself in my dreams now. The Cold War between the Republic and the Sith grows ... warmer, as we vie for proxy control over Aldaraan. Each choosing a House to back in the Civil War for succession. My task is, naturally to encourage them to chose House Rist instead of House Organa, while I searched for another Sith Artifact.

Next, I traveled to a rather non-descript planet called Tatooine. At first little more than sand, I discovered a secret weapon facility and infiltrated it of course. An ancient Rakata mind prison had turned all the workers into mindless drones. As with that Infinite Engine on Nar Shadaa, I chose to destroy it rather than risk allowing it being exploited. A device that enslaves the mind is a device I cannot allow to exist.

But after that, that is when everything got exciting, as I returned to my Sith Master with the last two relics for her quest. But not before I recovered my ancestor's lightsaber...

Predictably, she was using me and turned on me.

Darth Zash had discovered the secret to immortality, which required my body. I fought her, and my Dashade companion, the one she'd warned me against, stepped between us.

So now, my former master is trapped in the body of a monster, and forced to share his mind. And in a delicious turn of events, she is as bound by his oath of loyalty as he is. Earning that loyalty has paid dividends. As I've said many times, it is better to be loved, than feared.

And thus, I have come from slave, to student, to apprentice. And now I am Heir of Kallig, slayer of Zash, successor of Tulak Hord, and Lord of the Sith.

Ah crap, there goes my New Year's Resolution. Who was betting on pet food?

I couldn't help myself. I just had to kill something.

I think this is the closest The Mysterious They who keep track of these things have come to suggesting Millennials are killing off babies.

It's rather fascinating how the Sith Empire functions. Or rather, does not. The rank and file serve in constant fear of some idiotic order from their so-called superior and there is constant backstabbing and mistreatment. I've made incredible inroads simply by not murdering people when they make a mistake as my peers are wont to do.

It's much more effective to sway them to my side with mercy, to treat them as they ought to be treated. It is the right thing to do, but in the context of the Empire I suppose it is also a matter of my own survival. One must build a power base if they've any hope to survive, let alone thrive.

My dream self has come to the simple conclusion that if the Empire is to survive as well, there must be drastic change. The Republic is at our throats, and we are always watching our backs.

To this end, I have befriended an agent of Imperial Intelligence. A rather attractive Chiss woman, which is a nice bonus.

Entertainingly, I now have my own cult on Nar Shadda, left in the hands of two people I spared to gain their loyalty after I retrieved an artifact there.

There was one other thing of interest on that Hutt-infested planet. What was called an 'infinite' engine. This device could manipulate energy and matter, and create almost anything that was desired. Food. Water. Weapons.

I've been forced to think about light versus dark as a metaphor for good versus evil for the last infinite number of weeks.

And you know what? That metaphor is bullshit.

You know what lasers are made of? Fucking light, that's what.

You know what would destroy everything on earth if it wasn't for the ozone layer? Fucking light from the sun, that's what!

Light is not inherently synonymous with happy good friend feelings. I hate this metaphor.

Another complaint for thought.

I had to write this down, as soon as I woke up. After I, a lowly slave-turned-apprentice defeated the powerful Darth Skotia, I was sent into the ancient Sith temple on Dromund Kaas.

There, I was tested once more, and as expected, I passed. While in the temple, I discovered the tomb of a man who turned out to be my ancestor. An ancient Sith Lord, his spirit spoke to me and told me of my birth right. He also warned me to be wary of my new companion, which is only common sense.

I left that temple with both the relic I'd sought, and the mask of Lord Aloysius Kallig. A fitting accompaniment to my mask of Revan.

I should be wary of these artifacts. I do not yet have the puzzle put together, but just as a Master should never trust their apprentice, an apprentice should never trust her master.

Yet another fault of the Sith. It's amazing there are as many of us as there are.

How delightful. These creatures are not immune to lightning.

I do not feel as powerful as I am in my dreams. The lightning is ... lacking ... compared to what I have demonstrated, as is my ability to throw things about.

But it is serviceable, and good practice.

For now.

The plot thickens. I freed a Dashade, a powerful being immune to the force, and turned him to my side. This provided me some of the backing I needed to defeat the other acolytes.

Lord Zash took me on as her apprentice, gave me her old lightsaber, and tasked me with recovering ancient Sith artifacts of varying power and purposes.

My first mission took me to the capitol of the Empire, Dromund Kaas. I recovered the relic, freed some slaves, and discovered the most curious of cults. A group dedicated to studying a long dead person who was both Sith and Jedi. Light and Dark. A Jedi Master and Dark Lord who found some kind of balance between the two.

Revan is interesting, and in my dreams I claimed their mask for my own research.

These dreams are so intriguing. And alluring.

I found that lightsaber this morning, along with the slave collar I'd worn until I'd become an acolyte. I destroyed the latter.

It would appear that I have been afflicted with the same madness as the rest of you.

My House, it seems, fell out of favor, and to recoup debts I was sold like chattel.

But our Empire's war did not go well, and I developed gifts which would prove useful against this Republic we fight.

So I was taken to an academy with others, though I do not believe the Overseer is at all enamored with the idea of a freed slave among his acolytes.

No matter. Either I succeed, and I am free. Or I perish, and still I am free. But in my dreams, I plan to live, and to thrive with the power I've been granted.

Though I must wonder at the structure of an Empire where the strong survive on the backs of the weak, and a shiv in the back is a constant worry. Such a structure is doomed to collapse eventually.

What do they call that? Klingon promotion?

I know exactly why I won’t be making the crossover into acting - I enjoy food too much to ever agree to just eat rabbit food. Or pizza with a knife and fork. I’d rather be a healthy weight for my frame than skinny because I practically starved myself. Now that I’ve confessed that - anyone feel up to joining me for dinner tonight? I’m thinking beers, cheeseburgers and onion rings. Or fries. Or maybe both.
