So people of the Net, do blondes really have more fun as they say? Because I'm starting to think it's time for a new hair color. Dumb blonde jokes get old after a while.

So, I think I finally had one of those dreams everyone is talking about. Well, more than one. Like in real life, my mother died when I was a teenager and it was just me and my sister, but then, instead of going to culinary school, I got a job with the CIA. Yes, The Central Intelligence Agency. I was an analyst, which seemed pretty easy. I pretty much read blogs for a living. Then I met another agent there named Rex Matheson. He was pretty cool. Then I woke up. I'm really not surprised that dream!me would have a better life than real me.

Ciao! Hi. Hello. Pick whichever you like. I'm James.

I'm sorry, these things are not normal for me. I've never joined a network, so I'm not sure what I am supposed to say. I keep thinking that no one will respond. I barely keep up with my Facebook page.

So, I'm James, and I live out here in Newport Beach now. I'm trying to get a start in fashion design, so if anyone is into that, I'd love to talk to you, or to anyone really.

While some of you were busy getting to know one another in what I imagine is the worst way possible, I, Ford Prefect, have procured a job at night club. My mixology skills cannot be beaten. Come see me at Mercury. [Address]

My official statement is that I've hired an assistant to help maage the salon. I haven't, but as long as I Mr. Jupiter, I will be "Leo."

It's phonetically close enough to my own nickname that I might actually answer.

How silly would it be to take a poll what color I should do my hair next?

I have to admit I've never been so glad that I am able to work from home as I was in the last couple of weeks. My boyfriend has been great about living between our two places, it actually worked out much better than I thought it would.

Those attacks were awful, though everybody pulled together so well during and since. It's nice to see people supporting and caring about each other. I hope everybody is okay.

So this week in science; well, I don't suppose it all happened this week. It's just mentioned this week, but whatever. There molecules inside of naked mole rats that make them immune to cancer... obviously a great chance for the human species to find a way to eradicate the disease.

A battery was printed on a 3D printer, it was powerful and no larger than a grain of sand.

Also, evidence of bacterial DNA in the human genome! Brilliant, or perhaps not.

Fifty years ago today, this isn't exactly science as much as it is history obviously, but still... JFK visits Berlin! Brilliant day it seems, wish I'd been there.

And in two days it will be the 100th anniversary of the second Balkan War! A war that pre-dated WWI, but yet help set it up, and therefore a war that, in all understanding, could have very minutely helped to set up the world we live in today.

I grew up in Portland, Maine, but somehow, I never became aware of the North American Wife Carrying Competition that was annually held in Newry, about two hours away. Apparently a couple wins the wife's weight in beer, and five times her weight in cash.

I do accept that that's a substantial weight of cash. It might be the only sport I can see a point in, though I'm not sure I'd try it myself. ... I mean, I have no wife, but still.

Fire and brimstone coming down from the skies! Rivers and seas boiling!
Forty years of darkness! Earthquakes, volcanoes -
The dead rising from the grave!
Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together -- mass hysteria!

What we mean to say is this shit is B A N A N A S. And we're goin' out of town for the weekend.

Does anyone remember when No Doubt was a ska band?
Because we sure don't.

So! Brilliant news! Scientists have designed a minute, but functional tractor beam. Pretty fantastic. What's more, the quadruple helix was found in human cells for the first time!

Also on this day, in 1788, the United States Constitution was ratified. Pretty big day really, for Americans at least. Really the whole world. Today it is the oldest written constitution in operation in the world. Isn't that fantastic?

Also! I just ran a two mile run, gorgeous day out today. Tomorrow I'll try for three! I love running.

Did anybody else see the awesome meteor shower last night? Alex and I stood in the garden to watch, it was pretty impressive. Like a beautiful light show. I got a few sketches done this morning and if I can make them work there might just be a little meteor inspired collection.
