Take a holiday and come back to find air to surface missiles on your roof.

Hello, London. To think I had missed you.

The dragon during the fourth of July celebrations made quite an impression and so the search for invitations to the Magic Castle begins. I'm going to leave the twins to it and spend a day enjoying the view from our current residence's balcony.

E-mails, text messages, thumb-up icons, commentary on blog entries, crippled, butchered and slaughtered writing attempts - all of it virtual, none of it tangible.

Modern man is present everywhere and leaves not a single trace behind.

Letter writing is a dying art. It's a pity and a shame.

From the Queen's Diamond Jubilee to America's celebration of independence - I'd say that's more than enough celebrating for one year though there's still Christmas.

Bah humbug.

We're going dragon-watching this Wednesday. You can bring your girlfriends/boyfriends/other assorted slovenly appendices if you must.

She's gone and left him alone with it. How it happened he cannot say. Dorna was here one moment and gone the next. He had assumed that the nanny was still about and while the girl was wonderful about being seen and not heard the particular quiet that had settled around the house told Kevan he was quite alone.

Frowning he looked down at the sleeping infant.

Keeping children was a woman's business and while Kevan had never been an absentee father he was by no means a hands on parent.

The child would stay asleep. So long as the baby agreed and understood their unspoken arrangement all would remain right with the world.

Taking a step back he prepared to exit the nursery.

A small whimper made him freeze.

Bollocks.
