More dreams and nightmares. The nightmares were worse than the dreams. The dreams basically consisted of Maia and I going off to try and stop the Blight. We met a woman named Morrigan then we went to a place called Lothering and Redcliffe. In Redcliffe we went to the castle of the man who had raised me and he was sick because of the blight and his son was possessed. Then when we left there, we ran into a certain assassin.

Then when I woke up, there was a Longsword at the foot of my bed. First armor and now a sword.

I guess I should introduce myself. I'm Celes. I'm not sure what people really talk about on this thing.

Has anyone heard that Selfie song? I'm not sure if I like it or if it's irritating.

Never having a salad ever again. I don't care if this was all the way in NYC. That's just so WRONG.

I have a few hours of down time, and a long list of chores. Thought I'd put the tv on while I'm folding laundry, but I'm not sure what to watch. Any Netflix suggestions out there?

Just because I'm a feminist doesn't make me a lesbian, or a man hater. Just because I turned you down doesn't make me either, either. Stupidity, now that's something I hate. Come up with a much more clever insult and maybe I'll raise you from pond scum to something with a few more braincells. Like a tadpole.

And then, after all that you have the bright idea to touch me.

One day out without someone thinking I want them in my personal space, that's all I ask.

Saving New York has some perks. They gave me the Statue of Liberty as a home base after my apartment was destroyed.

Since the feds won't let tourists up there any more.

Granted I still have to pay rent.

But Statue of Liberty! Take that Captain America.

I've finally found a place to live. And I have a roommate. I think this will be a good match. I'm looking forward to getting to know her and everyone else.

There is a pot luck dinner happening at the women's shelter on 3rd street this coming weekend. If anyone would like to volunteer to bring dishes, or help out in some way, we could use all the help we could get.

This whole Malaysian plane thing baffles me. I'm extremely curious as to what happened and how they still don't know much about what happened.

On a lighter note, The Pie Hole in Huntington Beach will be having it's grand opening this Friday, March 14th. Yes, Pi Day. I'm looking forward to see everyone.

If you haven't had the time to watch Cosmos: A Space Odyssey, then I highly recommend you take the time to watch the encore showing this evening. You can also catch the premier episode online, if that's your thing.

If you were looking for a way for Science to inspire you, you need look no further than this absolutely amazing series.

Man, all of the Hardy Boys / Goosebumps / Babysitters Club books would be way better if they had literal titles.

This one's my favorite. Cut for image, viewable to all. )

So for this past week I've:

1) Had a dream about being a cop in Los Angeles with a partner that looks like the new guy on the Walking Dead, minus the handlebar mustache. It also came with memories of a whole lotta personal drama including nearly being shot to death on the job. Speaking of nearly dying, my other dreams involved: a plane crash. Nearly drowning post-plane crash. Having nearly everyone die on you from your section of the plane which was the tail. Saving a kid by CPR. Being attacked the first night on the beach of the island we all swam to and having three people kidnapped.

2) Went to Mass for Ash Wednesday for the first time in forever. It was nice. Then tried to share my ashes with Michael at work. Made for an interesting sparring demonstration.

3) Had the same dreams again, with more details added. Apparently I'd been seeing a shrink as part of my therapy before coming back to work. Oh and my mom's the police captain in this other life too. Yay. Ugh.

4) Was ordered home from work after nearly passing out before lunch. Stupid dreams and not sleeping.

5) Caught up on sleep loss this weekend to the point I think some people thought I was dead when I didn't answer my phone.

Here's to hoping for a less...dream filled week this time around.

So uh, my car finally decided to stop working right. I think running over an Orc from that whole...whatever that was Volcano/Middle Earth invasion thing did my poor baby in. Couldn't exactly tell the insurance company I ran over a mythical creature so I tried saying it was a deer. Without pics and paperwork and stuff it was a no-go.

So...are there any good mechanics, body shop people on here? Cuz my poor hummer needs some TLC.

My birthday is tomorrow. Tomorrow I'll be one year closer to forty. I'm not sure I approve of that. At least this year I have someone to celebrate my birthday with. That will be an improvement on the last couple of years. I think Sirius and I are planning to take a vacation during my week off from work. We're just not sure where we want to go.

Nessie's new favorite word is "no." She uses it for everything we ask her now. I don't think she knows the meaning of the word yet. It makes for some hilarious situations.

Me: Nessie, are you going to make something of yourself when you grow up?
Nessie: No!

or

Bella: Nessie, are you going to date when you're 16?
Nessie: No!

and my personal favorite

Bella: Nessie, do you like it when Aunt Alice takes you shopping?
Nessie: NO!

Oh man. I don't know how many of you know, but there's talk of a bill being proposed in our fantastic state that would prohibit the use of Orca whales in shows and exhibitions. This is fantastic! Of course SeaWorld is less than happy, and the bill would still allow them to keep whales in aquariums [ :( ] but it's a great start! I'm actually so excited, guys.

Hello, I'm Faramir. My older brother, Boromir, has already posted an introduction, earlier today. I've been on the network for only a little while, but I've been quiet. I prefer books and reading, rather than the public limelight. I'll leave that to Boromir, instead. I can assure you all that he's a person of good character and that he means well, and that he will make for an excellent representative should he be elected.

As for myself, I'm currently a community college teacher (philosophy, poetry) at Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa. I teach three days a week and volunteer for my brother's campaign, as well as various other causes.

I'm afraid I'm not as interesting as my brother is. I simply thought it would be rude to continue lurking on the network and never post anything.

HOLD THE PHONE.

There's a bacon-scented cell phone alarm out there and that's a thing.

Let's discuss, shall we?

  • The technical term for this sort of cell attachment is "dongle". Let us laugh at the word "dongle". Okay.
  • Is waking up to bacon worth waking up and there not actually being bacon?
  • Is returning from work to bacon scented sheets worth the sorrow?
  • Why am I not eating bacon? Right, I own a pig.

I suppose it's time to introduce myself. I'm Boromir, and I'm running as an Independent for the 46th congressional district. I hope this network will prove valuable in getting to know my constituents.

Well, I suppose I'm not the only "newbie" to be posting on here lately. I'm Ellie Bartowski, and I've just taken a position at Irvine General. Looking forward to meeting people and making a home here in Orange County.

Also, I hear my kid brother Chuck is around here somewhere. Pretend like I just told you some really embarrassing story about him from our childhood.
