Well, that dream was kind of boring compared to the last few.

At least I finally met Raven in that world.

Hey, everyone. If you don't know who I am, yet, I am Alec Lightwood and I wanted to have a potluck on the 31st, so that we could all meet; I'd also like to use this as an opportunity for the newer residents to learn where the institute is and have access to it's resources.

It will be held at the institute, and I was thinking around 6:00pm.

As of now, Magnus is in charge of drinks & Jace is handling pizza. Are there any sort of dietary restrictions/preferences that we should be aware of?

My dreams just jumped ten years. Went from the end of high school to my ten year reunion. But at least I got a cowboy hat.

Had another cycle of dreams and I honestly feel like I'm starting to get whiplash or something. My life seems to have more twists than an M. Night Shyamalan movie. Only you know, it's my life so... Or dream life anyway. Either way, I'm feeling more than a bit overwhelmed. I don't even want to go to sleep, because who even knows what's next at this point!

Wait, did Kanye West really announce he's running for president or was that a joke? Cause I really can't tell. Although, I'm guessing that everyone else is pretty much in the same boat.

I'm not sure how I feel about fireworks this year. I think I want to go somewhere quiet, away from the noise.

After that dream? I don't think I ever want to fly again.

Never been so glad that I held onto my old run down van. It’s made it a lot easier getting the stuff for Lace and Rock’s yard renovation easier. She makes it a little difficult to get orders just delivered out to the house so I’m pulling transport on my off days. She’s still loving exploring the yard and now that more of it is cleared she’s got more room to scare the shit out of squirrels. She’s not doing anything to them or even threatening them just walking towards them because she’s curious about what these things in our yard are.

I've been having more dreams. It's been a lot so I'm just now getting to talk about it. I don't even know how to start processing.

So happy to be back in California and settled in one place for a little while.

I had a sleepover with my little cousin last night.

We decided to watch Mulan, so I was in the kitchen with Laurel making popcorn and getting drinks as I was singing, "I'll make a man out of you."

Suddenly Olivia runs in, hand on hip and yells at me. "MAL, STOP TRYING TO MAKE A MAN OUT OF MOMMY!"

More dreams. I could think of worse dreams than being a pirate. Daughter of Captain Hook in fact. Well, the youngest daughter. A little dark though. Apparently King Beasty? He brought dead villains back to life and trapped them on the Isle of the Lost where they had kids they didn't care about. No food. Well, that's not true. The Isle received the spoiled, rotten leftovers from Auradon.

What a guy.

I didn't leave my house all weekend and I kind of hate myself for it.

I got one of this stupid Diamond Dotz paintings, which is basically a paint by number but instead of actual paint you put these little colored "gems" on it and it makes it a shiny 3D type painting.

I got totally sucked in. It was terrible, but I'm almost done with it now, but I'm not letting myself touch it until the week is over in case I get sucked into a black hole again.

Well at least I finally know what I did after Clary took my sensor - I followed her to her apartment. Where I arrived just in time to get her out of the building before the cops showed up but not before she got attacked by a ravener demon. Which if she hadn’t run off like that I might have been able to protect her from but we’ll never know I guess. When she ran into it it was already half dead so it could be a lot worse but she still got poisoned and I don’t have anything with me to actually deal with that so I have to just try my best to treat her wounds. And then use my stele to draw a rune on her to hide her from other demons that might be in the area and then take her back to the Institute. I can practically hear the lecture already

I decided that before I get a lot of furniture in my place, I should paint. What I didn't know is how hard it is to pick a paint colour for each room.

Seems like things following me out of my dreams is going to be a thing.

This morning I woke up with a crude knife dream me made from part of the drop ship.

Weird dream last night. Which I know is a thing here. So. Yeah. Dreamed I was back in school. Living with a girl I thought I was gonna marry. And then my brother showed up, I hadn't seen him for a long time. Said our dad was MIA on a hunting trip and needed me to help him track the old man down. When I got back, my girlfriend had been murdered and there was a fire that I only survived because my brother came back and pulled me out.

I don't even know how I'm supposed to process that. Or the grief, because I feel like I lost someone for real. Like, she was my soul mate in the dream. And now she's gone and I...yeah. I know it's crazy. Dean? I could use some brotime. Maybe you could go with Jesse and me to the shelter to look at dogs?

Ir's weird waking up with feelings of self loathing, but I really don't like dream me very much.

I think I must have cut myself in my sleep last night, but I can't actually find any injuries. I woke up with blood all over my face though, so maybe it was a nose bleed or something. And the same damn dream I have every night, except with more details, and this time I could put people to sleep by touching them and...

I went to one of those wine and painting classes last night. It was something my friends and I used to do once a week back in NOLA. I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. I forgot how much fun this was.

I have woken up to quite a few dream gifts. But a room full of stolen artwork is one of my favorites. Only topped by becoming a hyrbid.

It's too much for my apartment. Time for a move.

In a few weeks there's gonna be an art show in the park. I've been invited to participate so I have to figure out what pieces I'm going to include and do some new ones. Sometimes this is the frustrating part, but other times the creativity just flows. Only time will tell which one it is this time.

Opening my own MMA schools sounds like just my style. I think that's what I'll do.

I usually run an easy 5 miles in the morning, and there is a new family moving in on the normal run. This morning, the guy was standing out there in a wifebeater tank and boxers, looking like he'd been stomped on and he's yelling at some neighbors dog. Great. It's a porchdick.

Oh wow, protesters have covered the Little Mermaid statue in red paint. I get the protest and I don't agree with whaling, but I hope they didn't use permanent paint on this! I always wanted to see this statue!

Part of me is going to miss all that wind and rain, it was just like being at home only with added northern lights. Mind you, the way this place is I'm sure we'll get some other crazy weather at some point.

I thought I had some pretty crazy dreams when I ate leftover Chinese food before going to bed, but some of the things I've read, in the short time since I joined are pretty crazy.

I'm looking for some more models for my art portfolio! No nudes or anything, I'm really just looking for people to sit and look interesting for half a day or so. I'll buy you some lunch from Baxter's Bakery and feed you some tea and biscuits while you sit for me. Any takers?

Some sects of our Magic Guild are looking a little sparse, since people have come and gone over the weeks and months. I thought I would put out another open call for recruitment. Potions are not my specialty, but I have been practicing more and more - however, we could use the help there and in most other areas.

Last night was an amazing night - made all the better for seeing my talented boyfriend and his band play.

I'm so lucky to have spent the last hours of 2016 with the best people ever. Especially my Simon and Clary - we're such a hot bunch of dorks ;)

Sea Vegetable Conspiracy, yeah that's our current band name, is playing at, [name of club], tonight at nine. I know it's short notice, but we just got the job yesterday cause the band that was gonna be playing dropped out. So come check us out if you're free tonight.

Congratulations to my amazing big brother Alec and his husband Magnus on their wedding yesterday. It was absolutely perfect and I am so very happy for you :) I love you both with all my heart and I always will xxx

Also, just thought I'd share a picture I took earlier of my gorgeous girlfriend. I keep asking myself what she sees in a geeky guy like me, but I'm definitely not complaining.

So I'm thinking of putting together a photography portfolio for my college coursework and I'm on the lookout for a model or two. It's not really a medium I've experimented with before, so I'd be looking for models who have a lot of patience and don't mind me playing about with angles and settings etc. Any takers?

I indulged in a Greek inspired tarot set while on holiday, purely for personal readings and I have to say I've been rather pleased with the results so far. It's been highly accurate.

Does anyone think we need another demon or alien attack or something like that?

Some big time Bryan Singer type director wants to make Rage into a movie, in my dreams. Michael's boyfriend seems to be the only one looking at this whole thing realistically while Michael and I are already planning what we're going to do with the money we get from it and we haven't even talked to this director yet. All we've gotten is an email saying he's interested. Brian and I also made a bet on who could sleep with this new guy first. If I win then he's taking me to Ibiza and if he wins I'll go back to school. ( Mention of death )

In real life news, the exhibit Saturday night went great. As much as I love showing off my art, I love seeing everyone elses'. I can't wait for the next show.

That was a lot to process this late at night. So, after we returned to New York from Idris, I somehow started dating Isabelle and Maia. Don't even ask me how I started dating two girls at the same time. It's a mystery to me too. Other than that, I got an offer from this other vampire to join her against Raphael. I told her that I needed to think about it cause I was already on Raphael's shit list. I wasn't sure I wanted to make it worse.

My bandmates apparently knew that I was a vampire and were cool with it. They were even discussing, what they called, my sexy vampire mojo cause of the fact that I was dating two girls. This new guy named Kyle had found one of Matt's old fliers and applied to sing in the band. Clary convinced us to led him try out so we did.

The worst part of the dream was when I got home after band practice. After getting attacked by a guy and the Mark killing him, my mom confronted me and I tried to explain that I was still her son, but she was convinced that I had killed her son and was a demon and I realized she was afraid of me so I left.

Dream ended there and now I kind of really wanna call my mom, but it's even later in New York than it is here. So I guess I'll wait till tomorrow and try to get back to sleep. Not that that'll be easy or anything.

Does anyone else think that the Lays commercials with the Potato Heads are just plain creepy? Or is it just me?
