Jesus, that was a rough shift.

Huge traffic accident with multiple victims and some of which had to be cut out of their cars so the hospital was sheer insanity.

I'm exhausted.

I should probably Uber home and not drive or I might end up causing an accident myself.

Hopefully all of your hard work paid off and people who could be helped were.

But I do think an uber and plenty of sleep is on the cards for you.

We definitely saved a lot of lives which is a good thing.

Until tomorrow, heh.

That's the best thing, and something I'm sure everyone will be thankful for all your effort and sacrifice for.

Oh, you don't even have tomorrow off?

Just happy to help.

Nope. Working another long shift tomorrow.

But the are you off the next day?

I think there should be some R&R on the cards for you by this point.

...Pass?

I need to actually look at my work/life balance as it's definitely skewed.

You can't possibly work this much and stay healthy. It sounds like you barely have time to sleep and eat!

It's definitely a juggling act.

My friends are always telling me to take it easier.

I think your friends are probably right.

It seems like you might need to better care of yourself.

Ironic, right? A doctor/surgeon who needs to take better care of himself.

Probably not as unusual as some might think. You’ve already demonstrated a keen determination and sacrifice to get to this stage.

I hear medical school is brutal. And I dated a med student one time. His hours were funky.

I suppose that's true.

Definitely brutal. It's true what they say, only the strong survive. Hours are not conducive to having any sort of a life.

I guess that’s the kind of job you absolutely need to give your all to.

It just a shame you can’t get more time to rest at least.

You are definitely right about that. It's worth it.

I should book some time off.
