It's always good to see the extended family over the festive period but just as nice if not better when they finally leave and you're given your home back.

I love them, I do, but it's nice to have things back to normal.

Or as normal as it gets in Orange County.

So, I'm starting to get used to my dreams, how there's no real continuity in them, no movement of time, I'm still around five and it feels like these events can't possibly all happen within a year. I just need to let that go and accept them all as small incidents and not some developing story like so many others seem to have.

This time, my sisters stuffed octopus started talking to her, and that's not too weird. Bubbles is the type that talks to anyone and she does have imaginary friends (we're five, of course she does). But it turned out to be one of our enemies, HIM, and Bubbles was manipulated into fighting us. Naturally, we stopped HIM and Bubbles got to beat HIM up since HE used Octi to hurt her.

And then I shot lightning bolts and fried my apartments electrics. Fun mornings all around!

Anyone know an electrician who won't ask too many questions about weird burn marks?

Things I was not expecting or wanting to do today. Fight the DMV about my identity because of the 'Real ID' law despite having the documents required and extra just to be safe. And I still have to go back and do it all over again because it wasn't resolved.

There’s a large sign on my horse’s stall that says ‘Do not enter without owner’. When the staff lets him out to pasture on days I can’t get up there they make sure to put him in the pasture that is furthest from the stable and the trails. And then go and put a sign on the fence around it that says ‘Do not enter. Do not feed.’ There’s a reason for that, other than my being a possessive asshole when it comes to my animals - although that is a part of it - Shadowdancer is extremely skittish with most people. He was abused before the organization I adopted him from rescued him and treated his wounds. It took me weeks to earn his trust enough to even step into his stall without him getting aggressive. And that was with regular daily visits to talk to him from outside the stall so that he’d know me. Longer than that for me to able to touch him let alone put a saddle on him and take him for a ride. Even now that we know each other and he trusts me - he still tries to take a bite out of me if I startle him. He’s always likely to be skittish.

And one of the most gorgeous horses I’ve ever seen so I do understand the desire people who see him have to touch him. But those signs are up for a reason - to protect you and him. If you ignore them and he bites you? It’s your fault. Not his. Read the damn signs people. Animals are not public property.

I keep hearing a voice in my dreams. If it wasn't for the fact my powers keep kind of... growing, I'd think I was going crazy.

I woke up and had to turn turn my bathroom into an ice rink just to let the power out.

But I really wanted to post because I made a new friend today. I'm calling him Olaf.
