How upset with me do you think Robert would be if I sent these to him on Valentine's Day?

I think everyone at the office might get one, instead. Or at least the people I've worked with. There are an awful lot of people over at Stark, after all.

For as much of a romantic as I am, and the sort of reputation that I have, I've just realized that I've never been with anyone on Valentine's Day before.

In other, somewhat related news, the house is positively freezing. I think Valentine's will be spent under a mountain of blankets.

The only thing I dislike about my modeling gig is that it shoots so far in advance. It's February, way too cold to be running around in a string bikini right? Wrong.

I don't think I can get hypothermia when it's in the fifties out, but good lord, I had to almost slap a photographer when he wanted to shoot for two hours in the water. Look sexy? How about I introduce you to the business part of this very high heel, you idiot.

With all the work I do with artificial intelligence and robotics, I suppose I have a unique point of view when it comes to the creatures that science fiction seems to produce. But the similarity I've found between most of these books and movies boils down to one question: Can robots feel?

Technology is progressing by leaps and bounds, and yet that question still remains, as it has for decades. I've found myself pondering it, as we draw closer to Valentine's Day, which celebrates love in most all its forms.

Can a robot learn to love? Could we someday progress so far that something mechanical could learn to feel human emotions, as we feel them. Or will they always be subpar, in that respect.

Tomorrow is the full moon again. I'm thinking of battening down the hatches, just in case.

In other news, Thor has mostly learned how to sit. Or he does it when he knows I have a treat in my hand, anyway. It's progress. Training classes start the first of the month.

Aww, animals cuddling. Just in time for Valentine's Day. It's a bit sickeningly sweet, but I can't stop looking.

I will give $1,000 to anyone who brings me a box of chocolate-peanut butter Girl Scout cookies within the hour.

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day. Who wants to send me a Valentine? I don't expect much! No flowers or chocolates, just...

Nina and George are dead. I think I might have accidentally put out the whole building's electricity. It just sort of happened. I'm sorry if I woke you up and then just left. I couldn't really handle things.

Mwen pa renmen rèv mwen nan tout. Had some weird dreams the other night. Dreamt that I got born in New Orleans, but in like 1750. I was the daughter of a placée - a white man's African mistress. Me and Maman who was also Jeanne were free, weren't slaves, but still, very weird. Uncomfortable. So vivid I damn near forgot how to use my iPhone when I woke up.

I was unaware that this was being tested in Orange County. I'm rather pleased to hear it. It's a very smart marketing idea, and I'm sure it's already come in handy for quite a lot of people.

Alyssa, can you get your mum to bake again?

I was invoked by a little girl today. She didn't exactly say it all correctly but apparently her mother had the alter to me set up properly so I heard her. She couldn't have been more than five or six but she was earnest and adorable so I popped in to talk to her.

Her name was Lyra, she had the cutest little braided pig-tails and a big vocabulary for her age. She said there was this boy in her class that she liked but wasn't sure if she wanted him to be her boyfriend. I asked her if she thought she was too young for a boyfriend and she gave me this really perfect no nonsense sort of stare and announced that she already had two other boyfriends and needed a third. After that well, I had to help her.

I don't generally go around playing matchmaker for kids but I gave her a pink mini-rose for her hair and told her that it was a magic rose. That it wouldn't make him love her but if she wore it the next time she talked to him it would tell her if he was right for her. I then also had a talk with her mother about leaving her books of invocation lying around.

I do love Valentine's day, even if it's so commercialized and fake. When it goes right it really is the best holiday.

I almost want to stay in the Alps.
