So Lian and I went out to get our Christmas tree tonight. I think out of all the holidays, I enjoy decorating for Christmas with Lian the most. There's just so much more that goes into it then other holidays and there's Christmas music to listen to while decorating or Christmas movies. It just never gets boring.

The nurses let me bring in my own sheets, pillows, and blankets this time. I'm going to be a little sad when I can't play the 'cancer patient' card with medical staff anymore, you know? You walk in with a box of stuff and bat your eyes at them and they fold pretty easily. Next time I'm going to try bringing a mini fridge. I'll probably get away with it, Logan managed a cooler full of root beer last time.

Oh hey, Penelope? I feel like I stole your 3DS instead of just borrowing it. I should probably get my own at this rate, but it's keeping me company again. I hope you don't mind.

This time of year has never really been that great for me, all things considered. I find it kind of ironic that the year I have Cancer over Christmas is actually turning out to be the best one ever. I've got so much more to be thankful for.

I can't believe it's almost 4 weeks. Thursday my little Christina will be 4 weeks old. My mother is leaving tomorrow to head home. My dad left on Saturday, after the world's most crazy Thanksgiving. I have a feeling they'll be back for Christmas? I'm definitely not driving up there for Christmas.

The pain pills make me a bit loopy. But I'm weaning off of them. Thank God.

Sorry for the TMI. I'm not sure how to shut my mouth off lately.

There are some pretty sweet perks to marrying into a family of wizards. I finally feel human again. Sleep enhancing magic is the best kind of magic. I managed to pick up my 3ds again yesterday, which was a nice way to spend naptime.

Dante isn't sure what to make of Luke, yet. He's good with kids, but too old and grumpy to deal with a baby. I'm hoping he'll be okay again when everyone's sleep schedule goes back to normal.

The end of the year always makes me look back and reflect on what's happened. This year was a lot busier than normal ones. I moved, opened my own business, met my husband and got married, time traveled, fought a robot, lost my parents, and a million other things. This year has been insane.

I think I came out ahead in the end, despite it all.

I'm so excited that it's December, which is silly because I was excited about last month too. But now I am a newlywed and Stefan and I had our first holiday as "The Salvatores", which was fantastic and lovely. The wedding was beautiful and I'm so thankful to everyone who came and especially those who watched over Nat so we could spend some alone time.

Thanksgiving was a lot of fun as well. I'm so blessed to have a great family. It was a lot of fun to have a big dinner with all my family members and now my extended family. I think there were only a couple of fights and we went through more than enough bottles of wine. I will admit that my sweet potatoes were absolutely phenom.

And now it's time for Christmas. I almost wish we were going to be back in Tahoe during the holiday just for the snow, but I will enjoy the warmth here. I've got to start pulling out the Christmas decorations this weekend. Finals are almost over and then I just have to get through next semester and I will be officially graduated! Woohoo.

Anyone have any good Christmas recipes they are willing to share? Always looking for something new to try.

Pro tip: flying with a busted knee? Extremely painful. Remind me to not do that one again.I am not a fan. But I'm home, finally. They made sure to poke and prod and sent me home in a nifty knee brace and orders to sleep in four a week. I should note that will never happen.

How are things?

A freaking hefty knee brace. I can't walk right in it. Also hopping up my stairs bad idea. Also painkillers. That made me take them today. Im a lil loopy. I hate painkillers.

I'm home, let's get this Derby going. Even if I can't skate for a fee.
