Who: Kyle Valenti and Alex Manes
What: Alex's dreams have revealed something about the cabin
Where: Valenti Cabin
When: After This
Warnings: Not likely
Status: Closed, in progress

Alex didn't mean to send up alarms in Kyle's mind. He'd just needed to know if Kyle was home. At the cabin that had apparently manifested out of Alex's dreams. He didn't need it because he lived with Maria and Mimi, so he'd offered it to Kyle when he'd come back to the OC. Since technically, at least in the dreams, it belonged to Kyle's dad, it made sense that Kyle lived there now.

Alex's most recent dream had revealed a hidden basement, an under ground bedroom. He didn't know if the room existed in the reality of the cabin in the OC, but he wanted to find out. He wasn't even sure which he was hoping for, but he'd know one way or the other soon enough.

He parked his crappy old jalopy of a car next to Kyle's and headed to the door. It seemed awkward to knock at the door to the cabin he technically owned, but he wasn't going to barge in on Kyle, even if Kyle was expecting him. Even if he carried lunch for the both of them.

Kyle wasn't entirely sure what was going on. His best friend had him worried out of his damn mind. Though, at part of him kept telling himself that if something had happened then Alex wouldn't of messaged him, he would've just came right over. Right? He wouldn't of waited or gone off to get food.

So, he's doing exactly what he said he'd be doing. Pacing. Everything was fine. He needed to keep telling himself that. His best friend was fine. He was fine, other than his dad being sick, so he had nothing to worry about. Right? Taking a deep breath he's about to sit down when he hears Alex's piece of junk. One of these days he'd have to fix the damn thing, or take his best friend out to get another.

Instead of sitting down, he moves over and opens the door giving Alex a slight smile," Hey, stranger." He takes the bags of lunch from him and moves over setting them in the center of the table.

"Please," Alex rolled his eyes, but he was also smiling. "It's been like three days since you've seen me." A lot had happened in that time. He had finally let Michael have his way. He wasn't calling it a break up exactly, but he was stepping back. Letting Michael have the space he needed.

As much as he wanted to prove Michael wrong and be the guy who stayed, the dreams and the reality of Michael constantly rebuking him were wearing him down. He felt there wasn't much choice, but to take a step back.

He glanced into the living room of the cabin. He couldn't help it. He was insanely curious about the basement room.

There's a bit of a laugh out of Kyle," Statement still stands, Manes." He knew exactly how long ago it had been since he'd seen his best friend. Things didn't seem too out of order and he'd been trying to figure out, to no avail, what was going on. Moving over to the couch he sits down and gives a nod towards the other man.

"Have a seat, we'll eat and you can tell me what's been going on with you these past few days," he states. Then, he'd find out what in the world Alex had been so adamanet about him being home for. Not that he wouldn't make the other a key or something if he needed a place to stay for a while. Hell, he'd probably do that anyway. That way he could come and go as he pleased.

For now, though, they'd eat first. Then get onto whatever this was all about.

"I had a dream last night," Alex said as they settled in to eat. "And I think there might be a hidden basement, a bedroom down there that we don't even know about," he said, gesturing vaguely toward the table that, at least in the dreams, hid the hatch door leading to the secret room.

In the dream, they'd discovered some family skeletons in that room. Alex didn't know if that would be the case here in the real world, but he kind of hoped not. No one needed to deal with that reality. Besides, not everything in the dreams was the same in the real world.

Kyle had heard about the dreams that had been going on, mainly from reading valarnet. It was weird to hear about. To even know that these kind of things came true. He eats as he listens to Alex talk about some kind of hidden basement. Why the hell would there be a hidden basement in his father's old cabin? Though, he does look towards where his best friend was indicating.

"Lets finish eating and then we'll check it out. See what secrets we can find," he tells him.

Since a lot of things weren't the same as in the dreams, Alex decided not to tell Kyle what the two of them found in the dream he'd had. If it came to it, he'd explain why he didn't say anything beforehand, but there was no reason to rock the boat. For all he knew, there wasn't even going to be a secret basement room in the cabin in the real world.

"Sounds like a plan. I hope I didn't interrupt any plans you had." Not that he really expected Kyle would tell him if he had. He wouldn't want to make him feel bad.

"You didn't interrupt anything."

Even if his best friend had interrupted something, he wasn't bound to tell him. He'd make time for Alex. It's what best friends did for one another. They made time for each other. Made sure that they were well. That they didn't need anything. So, he sits with the other man in companionable silence, taking everything in. It's not until they're both done that he looks over at him.

"I'm ready whenever you are."

"Let's see what we've got," Alex said. He got up and stretched. "The hatch is under that table," he said gesturing to the table in the living room. The table wasn't terrible heavy, but it would require both of them lifting to move it so it didn't scratch the floor.

Honestly? Kyle wasn't entirely sure what to think, not yet. The idea that his dad would have some kind of hidden room in the cabin. Though, for what, he didn't know. He does, however, move over to grab the edge of the table and help Alex move it. The moment they do though he can't help but frown.

Reaching down he removes the rug and stares at the hatch," Well... okay, then."
