Thinking of anything fun?
Who: Elsa and Blossom
What: Meeting for lunch
When: Early April
Where: Cafe!
Status: Complete
Rating: PG

Now that things had returned to normal, at least for now, Elsa was ready to get out of her apartment and meet with friends. Her dreams had yet to take her very far past the Giants in the forest and she had an increasing degree of anxiety about where they were leading her.

Putting that aside for now, she got ready and headed out to meet with Blossom for lunch and hang-outs. Possibly both as she wanted to suggest they get their food to go and find a nice park to have an impromptu picnic.

She arrived first, and waited outside, fiddling with the end of her braid.

Blossom was discovering that while a thriving social life was interesting it was also a little hectic. With Billy back to normal, and Blossom trying not to be disappointed that she couldn’t dress her best friend up anymore, she was trying to make sure her other friends were all doing well amidst all of Orange County’s insanity.

Meeting up with Elsa, Blossom was a tiny bit late, but not by much. “Hey Elsa!” And it didn’t stop her from being as exuberant as ever, waving as she approached with a large grin. “Please tell me you weren’t waiting long?”

Elsa looked up, smiling when she spotted Blossom. She didn't think she'd been waiting all that long, and so she nodded, "Not too long, I just got here. But I wasn't really paying attention."

Getting lost in her own head was something she did often. It was why she usually kept herself occupied with art or work.

She kind of wished she was still a kid. Life seemed so much simpler when you were three feet tall.

Getting lost in thought was something that Blossom could admit to doing from time to time. Sometimes there was just so much going on that it was easy to trail off into thoughts. “Thinking of anything fun?”

Sometimes Blossom drifted off at the most inopportune times; like during class. But some were just very boring, and daydreams were way more interesting. She did hope that she could at least offer Elsa some good company to stay in the here and now with.

“Did you get to look at the menu, know what you want?”

“Not really. Puzzling out a few things from my dreams, mostly. Which could be fun at times, don’t get me wrong, but a lot of the time it isn’t.” Elsa smiled good naturedly, “I’m not a super hero like you. Just a Queen who feels constantly in over her head.”

She tapped the menu, “I was thinking of the BLT they serve here. You can’t go wrong with a sandwich.”

Well, a sandwich could go very very wrong but that was a mental exercise for another day that she wasn’t going to let herself go through.

Blossom scrunched up her face, partly in understanding, “I don’t imagine having all that responsibility is terribly easy at all.” Most of the time, Blossom was in charge in the dreams, she was the eldest, technically, and the leader. She was the most responsible. But that was just for her sisters and a town that got into some trouble now and then, not a whole kingdom and all the people in it.

“And, it’s a classic.” There wasn’t much to fault in the choice of a BLT, and Blossom figured she’d go for something simple and light too, “I guess I’ll just go for a ham salad sandwich.”

And they wouldn’t have to wait too long for them to be prepared. “Is everything okay, dream wise?”

“What’s funny is I kind of enjoy it. Hate it but also enjoy it. I just want to serve my people and be the best Queen I possibly can, but there’s so much paperwork, and so many little things I have to do.” She could, in theory, delegate responsibility but what if she was needed? Elsa shook off the feeling that she was somehow shirking responsibility by having a second life.

“I last let off with the elements going crazy and us traveling to an enchanted forest. Trapped in an eternal fog. My dream self is hoping to discover the solution to the elemental problem and figure out this voice that sings to me.”

In a lot of ways, Blossom was fascinated by other people’s dreams, the constant wonder as they progressed through them. Her own never really had cliffhangers, there wasn’t this story playing out for her, just snippets of a life with her sisters. “I think anyone in charge, they worry about that, right? Being the best they can be for the people they’re responsible for.” At least Blossom hoped that was what most leaders were like, it was important to put other people first.

As Elsa described where her dreams were, what was unfolding, Blossom was attentively following along, “Do you think it’s dangerous?” Blossom could remember the dream where HIM talked to Bubbles through Octi, listening to voices no one else heard might not be a great thing. “What is it singing?”

Elsa nodded, “I think maybe I don’t fully feel at home in the role, but I want to protect and help everyone that I can.”

Her expression changed, a frown forming on her face and her forehead creasing as she thought about it, “I don’t think it’s dangerous. And yes, it’s singing to me. It sounds like… home? But that’s not quite the right word for it. It’s calling to me and I think it has answers.”

Blossom never really knew the loneliness that came with being the only person who was different. She’d had her sisters, through every single dream, from the start, they were a trio. “If it doesn’t feel dangerous, that’s maybe good? Maybe answers will help you feel better about your position and everything?”

It all sounded very magical, and very confusing. But hopefully it brought some answers to Elsa about everything. When their food was ready, Blossom took a look outside, “Do you want to find a nice seat outside for these?” Sandwiches and some drinks, they’d be nice to eat outside in the nice air.

Hopefully answers would, and Elsa believed that they would. It was just a matter of getting from here to there and she kind of looked forward to it.

At the suggestion of eating outside, Elsa jumped on the idea, “I’m always up for an impromptu picnic!”

“It’s nice, right? Feels like you’re doing more with your day.” Blossom liked when the sun was nice, and you could just sit and enjoy yourself.

“I know a great little bench, if you don’t mind?” Because it was far away from trash cans, but not so far away from the pond or some pretty flowers. Also the people watching was rather good from there.

Elsa nodded, gathering up the food and her drink and getting up. "After you!" She was looking forward to this now; eating outside was almost always better than eating inside. Especially if there was a view and a friend.
