Where: This house

Caleb had finally found a place for all of the Ipswich boys to move into. It had been a long path of searching, talking to realtors, trying to wrestle the other guys into assisting, and also do his internship and work at the same time. But the perfect one had finally appeared eventually; rooms on different floors, a pool, and the boys would easily do any renovations if the place needed them. The money was coming from their parents and their inheritances for the most part, so the mortgage wouldn't too much to handle.
The day was finally here where they were moving into the house and Caleb was so thrilled that it had finally arrived. Packing up the apartment hadn't been terrible since Pogue didn't have a ton of stuff and Caleb wasn't a huge packrat. They were definitely going to have to go and buy new stuff to fit the house, but for now a mix of items would have to do. He parked the U-Haul in the drive way and turned towards Pogue with a grin, Reid and Tyler were coming in their own U-Haul., "Ready for this?"
Pogue turned to greet both Reid and Tyler with a lift of his hand before turning to flash his teeth at Caleb. "As ready as I'll ever be." This would be the first time they were all living in one place under the same roof and hopefully there'd be no fireworks to speak of.
The place was still as gorgeous as Pogue remembered and it was definitely a lot roomier than the apartment so hopefully the space afforded would keep the disagreements down to a minimum.
Reid cranked on the parking brake and cut the engine, letting out a low whistle at the place in question. "I mean, I saw pictures but they sure as shit didn't do it justice." He grinned over at Tyler before slipping out of the truck. "Suppose the sooner we get started the sooner it's done."
Tyler was expecting fireworks. Tyler was expecting more than a few fireworks but they'd handle them when they occurred. Ultimately, living under the same roof made sense; they were all experiencing Orange County's particular brand of weirdness (him less so than the others, but he'd join them soon enough, he was sure) and being together meant they could work on their powers, practise and make sure that they were in a good position should they ever need to be used. Or should any of the things from the Book of Damnation come to life.
He slid out of the truck after Reid and grinned at Caleb and Pogue, excited. "C'mon ladies, let's go take a look around!"
Oh there would definitely be some fireworks as they got used to being around each other, but Caleb figured with a place this size they would be able to walk off into other areas to cool down. He knew the benefits would outweigh the occasional spats, which hopefully wouldn't be that bad. Caleb got out of the car once it was turned off and moved to go to the back of the trailer and start getting all their stuff out, "Maybe we should do this with our shirts off and really give a first impression to the neighbors." He couldn't help but chuckle at the idea because he had no idea what kind of neighbors they were going to have.
"Like Pogue needs an excuse," Reid hollered from where he was opening the back of the truck which held his and Tyler's things.
Pogue playfully flipped Reid off before he snorted and headed around to start helping Caleb. "In this heat? It might become a necessity rather than something to do to cause a stir." He reached up to pull his hair into a small bun at the base of his skull so it didn't get in the way.
Reid nudged Tyler in the side gently. "Hey, you wanna see something cool?"
"You guys can if you want," Tyler answered Caleb with a shrug of his shoulders, "my shirt's staying firmly on. Last thing we need is thirsty rich old lady neighbours!" He dropped his voice and added, for Reid's benefit, "Sunscreen's in the front, for the record."
He tipped his head and looked over at Caleb and Pogue before he just nodded. "Is this power related?"
"We'll get you with your shirt off eventually," Caleb called out to him with a laugh, "Besides, why not have a thirsty rich old lady neighbor? Then she can will us some extra money if we do some random chores around her house with a shirt on." It really wouldn't be that big of a deal.
He turned to Pogue, ran his fingers along the exposed skin on the back of his neck, and leaned in to grin at him, "For the record, I fully support you taking off your shirt all the time around the house." He moved his hand to reach for a box so they wouldn't have to spend all their time outside today.
Reid grinned over at Tyler before wiggling his eyebrows. "You know it is." And with his grin rapidly turning into a smirk he used the power to pick up a box and move it as if it weighed nothing. Literally no need to get hot and sweaty when you had sweet ass powers.
Pogue turned his head to flash a grin in response to Caleb's remark. "I'll definitely remember that." And he felt it and his brow furrowed as he shot a look in Reid's direction. "Hey! No using the power because you're too lazy to carry boxes."
Reid rolled his eyes and let the box down gently. "Yes, mom."
Tyler snorted, "Come on, guys, it'll make unpacking so much quicker if you-" his voice strained a little as he picked up a heavy box, "-just use your powers to move things. It's not gonna kill us yet."
Sensing when someone was using their powers was still something Caleb was tryin to get used to and he wasn't surpried that it was Reid using it right now. He did have to admit it was kind of amusing and actually let out a small laugh before pointing out, "The powers might not kill us yet, but we also don't need those thirsty rich old ladies would probably grab pitchforks if they saw us performing magic."
He moved to where Tyler was having trouble with the box and assisted him in getting it up off the ground, "Got all your books in here or something?"
"Like to see them try," Reid shouted over with a further shit eating grin as he collected up a box and began in the direction of the house. They'd all selected their rooms already so he knew exactly where he was going with this particular box of things without the need for instructions.
Pogue snorted and lightly ruffled Reid's hair on the way past as he snagged a couple boxes, following his friend inside their home.
"I just don't spend all my spare time lifting heavy crates filled with bottles and shit," Tyler pointed out as he followed, more than willing to accept that he wasn't as physically strong as his friends.
He took the box in after Caleb had helped him pick it up and started walking it inside. He powerfully wished that he had the Power right now; that he could use it to ease the weight of this box a little.
If anything, though, as he carried it inside, he felt a tug in his chest and the box felt a tiny bit lighter. But maybe he was imagining that. It was only a very tiny bit lighter, so he was probably just getting used to it.
"We're ordering take out for dinner, right?" he hollered once inside.
Caleb was going to question who was lifting heavy boxes in their spare time, but decided to just leave that one alone and instead shook his head with a half smile. Maybe they would have to make one of the rooms a gym because strengthening themselves wasn't a horrible idea especially if they had to fight weird things here. He turned to head back to the truck and grab a couple boxes out of there and made his way inside. He heard Tyler's question and called back in response, "Yeah, we can just GrubHub whatever we want. I figure we'll be too exhausted to want to actually leave this place today."
"That," Reid hollered in agreement as he headed further and deeper into their new place. "I feel like I could eat an entire horse or whatever the fuck that saying is."
Pogue like Caleb was back and forth between the house and the truck, grabbing box after box, it wouldn't be long until the trucks were fully unpacked and they could start relaxing. More importantly, enjoy their new place. "I say we get all the boxes in, get the couches setup, and then think about what it is we want to eat."
"Just the couches, Pogue?" Tyler called, juggling a couple of lighter boxes, using his chin to put a bit of pressure from the top. He added, a split second later with a huge, Cheshire Cat grin, "I call dibs on the couches for tonight."
"Just couches? Oh hell no, I'm getting my bed put together," Caleb commented with a laugh as he set down a couple more boxes. There was no way he was going to crash on a couch for the night, which sounded incredibly uncomfortable. It had been a long time since he had to crash on someone's couch for the evening, "I mean we can each pick something we want to eat and then just place multiple orders. We may want a table or something set up as well." He moved to start going through boxes marked with kitchen so they could get some plates and glasses.
Pogue wasn't exactly fussy. He'd crashed out on worst things when he'd been travelling after all so couches were a marked improvement on some of his beds in the past few months. "Sounds like we've got a lot of DIY ahead of us then," he shared ruefully as he headed back out to grab the boxes that looked like they might fit into the category of table and chairs.
"Fuuuuun." Reid's sarcastic drawl could be heard throughout the house even though he was on a totally different floor, that was just how strong his sarcasm was. For real. He trailed back up from where he'd dropped off his boxes before jogging out to help Caleb with the ones for the kitchen.
"Or you guys could use your powers and get it done in half the time," Tyler pointed out with a grin, putting his box down and standing in the open space that would end up being their lounge. "I mean, it'd be a good way of getting some practise in, don't you think, Caleb?"
"I mean, you're not wrong, but I'm also having a hard time thinking about how to use the powers to make a bedframe. Like would it just start building itself like something out of a Disney movie?" Caleb paused before he made his way outside and had to admit he was curious about that and honestly, it wouldn't be horrible to test out some of their powers while inside the house.
"Vivid imagination," Reid affirmed with a nod of his head. "I mean, we move shit with our minds, right? Think about how much easier it would be to put together a bed. Could do it from the comfort of the couch or whatever."
Pogue considered that. "Worth a shot, definitely." They weren't at the place where they were in full control yet but that only came with practice.
Tyler grinned, it wasn't as though they couldn't afford to replace anything that was broken by the lack of finer control and he tilted his head at Caleb, "Three to one, man. Democracy has spoken."
He'd... be on hand to help stem nosebleeds or dish out cold things for headaches if needed.
"Do you even count?" Caleb teased Tyler with a smile before giving a small shrug before turning to Pogue and Reid, "I never said no. I was just trying to imagine how the hell this would work. But I'm down to watch if you guys want to try it out." He was not going to make a fool of himself first if it didn't work, plus it was the perfect opportunity to open up a beer and take a break.
"Stop being a dick," Reid shot over in Caleb's direction as he nudged Tyler in the side, his form of comfort. Dysfunctional, him? Never. Pfft.
Pogue scrubbed his fingers through his hair. "Won't be long until Tyler's caught up with us dream wise and comes into his own powers." He glanced over at Reid. "You wanna try do this with powers?"
Reid's face lit up with a huge grin. "Fuck yes."
Tyler bit back on the I guess not comment, as Reid beat him to a retort, so he just went back outside to get some more boxes, figuring that they didn’t need an audience if they were going to be messing around with their abilities, and he could at least keep himself busy by bringing stuff in.
“Good luck.”
Caleb resisted the urge to snap back at Reid when all he did was tease Tyler and he made sure to emphasis that in his voice and with that smile, but Reid was always there trying to pick a fight over any little thing anyone did to Tyler. Caleb could already sense that he was just going to have to give up trying to get anyone to be a little more careful with their powers because they still didn't know what would happen to them here. If he got some sort of sign that nothing would affect them then he didn't give a shit, but the last thing he wanted as his friends to end up as his father did in the Dreams. In the end he just gave an eye roll and went into the kitchen to put some items away because sometimes it was just best to walk away.
