When Magnus had first heard that Jace Herondale was going out with a guy, he had been quite surprised, to say the least. When Alec had first told him about seeing Jace at the club, he’d wondered if perhaps his husband had just thought he’d seen his cousin dancing with another guy, but then Alec had shown him the picture he’d taken of the couple and sure enough it was Jace.
As surprised as Magnus had been, he couldn’t help but admit that they made a good looking couple. Not to mention, it was nice to see Jace interested in someone else besides Clary, because even he could admit that their relationship in the dreams maybe wasn’t the most healthy.
And now, a few months later, Jace was away for Christmas with his boyfriend and Magnus and Alec were outside of Nine’s apartment. “It’s almost too bad we won’t be able to see their expression when they get home and find our present.” He smirked as he made a gesture with his fingers and the door in front of them unlocked.
Ever since Jace had asked Alec about where to get a stripper pole, so he could “practice at home”, he’d gotten an idea in his head about what to get his cousin for the holiday. Jace wanted the pole for his own place but Alec thought it be better to put the pole in Nine’s bedroom.
That’s why he and his husband were on this mission. “Yeah, but I’m sure we’ll get the details about it.” Along with the pole, Alec brought a box containing a few pairs of sexy underwear for Jace to perform in.
Following Magnus into the apartment, he looked around. The place was huge. “Well, i can see why Jace likes coming here…”
“You think the apartment is the only reason Jace likes coming here?” Magnus smirked as he closed the door behind them, “I think it has more to do with the strapping lad that lives here.” If there was one thing that Magnus could give Jace credit on, it was that he had very good taste in men.
Alec was quite aware that Jace wasn’t with Nine for his money. The man certainly had expensive tastes, he’d learned that whenever they came by the club for drinks. Still, they made a good couple and both seemed quite happy together. Jace needed someone like Nine in his life.
“Strapping lad, huh?” Alec commented with a quirk of his eyebrow. “Should I be worried?” He had to admit that Nine was quite easy on the eyes, and he’d checked out the man’s Instagram and appreciated his muscular physique. He glanced down a hall, “Think the bedroom is this way.” As they looked for the room, Alec peaked into all the rooms, noting all the space and expensive things. If he recalled correctly, Nine had the whole top floor to himself and Jace had mentioned a pool and hot tub. “Wanna go for a swim after we set up the bedroom surprise?”
“I can assure you that you have absolutely nothing to be worried about.” Magnus wouldn’t trade Alec for anyone in the world. As far as he was concerned, they were soulmates. Some people would probably find that pretty cheesy, but Magnus didn’t care in the least.
He too took in all the expensive things Nine had displayed around the apartment, noting that he too had very good taste, only in a different way than Jace did.
“A swim? But I didn’t bring a suit.” He winked at Alec as they found Nine’s room and Magnus set the supplies he’d been carrying down on the bed.
Alec was quite aware of the love that Magnus had for him and vice versa. Entering the bedroom, Alec looked around, noting the mirrors above the bed. The room had a great view as well.
“I didn’t ask about having a suit, did I? Besides, this won’t take too long to put together.” Alec set the box of underwear down on the edge of the bed. Making it look neat. “Once you get the pole set up, I’ll have to test it out.”
Magnus couldn’t stop the smirk that crossed his lips, “I get a show too? I knew I made the right decision to come with you tonight.” Not that Magnus had had any intention of declining this little adventure to begin with, but getting to watch Alec on the pole was a definite bonus.
Taking off his coat, he laid it on the bed and cracked his knuckles, “Alright. Am I doing this with tools or magic?” Magic of course was the quicker and easier way and the same way he’d installed the pole in their bedroom at home.
“A few swings around the pole is hardly a show...besides, you get plenty of shows at home,” Alec pointed out. If there was one thing that Alec liked to do for his fitness, it was pole dancing. Magnus got the perk of being home when he did such activities.
“If you’re gonna use tools, I’m just gonna go enjoy the hot tub, by myself…” he teased. Alec looked around the room and inspected the large closet and massive bathroom. “Damn, this is a nice bathroom…” he muttered to himself.
“Now that’s just rude,” Magnus smirked as he rolled his sleeves up his forearms, “If you get any decorating ideas, I can always redecorate our room when we get home,” If there was one thing Magnus enjoyed using his magic for, it was redecorating. “Alright, so where exactly should we put this?” He asked, unboxing the pole along with the rest of the contents of the box.
It certainly was quite nice to have a magical husband. It wasn’t uncommon for Magnus to update their decorations randomly but he had good taste, so Alec never minded. “I was thinking a few feet from the end of the bed. That way Nine can enjoy the show from the comfort of his bed.” Their home had a similar set up, for similar reasons. He made his way to the bed and took a seat, “Maybe close enough so that Nine can reach over and cop a feel…”
Magnus moved to stand a few feet away from the bed, his yellow cat eyes calculating the distance before taking a step closer then turning towards Alec, “Here or closer?” Magnus knew that Jace needed at least enough space between the pole and the bed so as not to hit any appendages on the piece of furniture or Nine if he was spinning around.
Alec stood and moved so that could help figure out the distance. He moved lower to the floor, stretching out his legs to make sure there was enough room. After slowly getting up, he stepped closer to Magnus and lightly moved him back a couple steps. “Here…” he said, with a smile before giving his husband a soft kiss.
A smirk crossed Magnus’ lips as Alec kissed him and he leaned in to kiss him back before taking another step back so that he’d have plenty of room to work, “This should only take a moment.” Blue sparks danced along his ringed fingers as he glanced from the pole to the spot Alec had indicated and within the blink of an eye the pole stood in that spot. “Ta-da!”
The warlock’s magic made quick work and Alec couldn’t help but give a small roll of his eyes as his husband presented his “hard” work. “Step back...gotta take a few swings around this to test it out.” Of course, Alec knew it would be fine, but it didn’t hurt. So, with ease, he grabbed the pole and expertly swung himself around it.
“Gladly.” Magnus stepped back, crossing his arms over his chest as he watched Alec swing around the pole, “Now I wish I had some ones.” He winked at his husband, yellow cat’s eyes wandering over the Shadowhunter’s body. Magnus had become extremely skilled at undressing Alec with his eyes.
“You’ll just have to pay me when we get home,” he said with a tease before he expertly dismounted from the pole. “Stop undressing me with your eyes…” he said before he removed his shirt and tossed it at his husband. He knew that look all too well. “Or would you prefer to not skinny dip in a private pool?” He winked and began to head towards the door, to leave the room.
