When: After this convo
Where: Beach Boardwalk

Status: Complete!
Once Stiles had texted her to confirm the use of his dad’s car, Kira knew it was going to be a good day. It would have been regardless, but the fact that they didn’t have to take the public transportation made it even better. She was sure Stiles would let her choose the music and that was exactly what she did as soon as she jumped into the car.
“Stiles and Kira day!” She held her hand up for a high five. “I’m so ready to win you that teddy bear!”
*
The second he got permission to take his dad’s car, he was texting Kira. She needed to know the good news. No public transportation for them! Although, sometimes taking the bus could be interesting. Especially when the interesting people were riding that day.
“Everyday should be Stiles and Kira day!” He high fived her and they were on the road towards the boardwalk. “This day could not come fast enough.” The moment they had planned this whole thing, he was counting down the days, the hours until they would meet up and go have some fun. “We need to win a whole family of bears.”
*
“I dunno, you don’t think that’s too much awesome all the time?” As if that could possibly happen. She turned towards him, grinning. “Ooooh that’s a good idea! But how would we handle custody of them? I’m not going to move them from place to place every other weekend!” She held her hands up in a full on ‘NOPE’, shaking her head.
“You win me a mom and baby, I’ll win you a dad and baby. We’ll leave it at that!”
*
“Nope!” he said with a quick shake of his head. “Although, we might get bored after a while if we did it too much.” And that would be a very bad thing. “Hmm, well…” he had to think about his answer for a moment. He opened his mouth, ready to give his answer, but then he just started to laugh. “You’re not making this easy, you know!” He had to laugh again. Especially at her idea. If anyone had been able to hear their conversation right now, they’d probably think they were crazy. “Sounds like a good plan to me. Two for the both of us.”
A little while later and Stiles was parking in the parking lot. “Time for some fun.”
*
Kira followed suit and jumped out of the car, taking Stiles arm in hers. She had always been fairly awkward around boys, but there was something about Stiles that felt comfortable. She didn’t second guess herself and felt like she could just be her and he wouldn’t judge her for it. They could be silly together and she found he gave her confidence to be ridiculous with him.
“Alright, what should we hit up first? Rides? Food? Games?” She thought about it. “Maybe games last. Because I don’t wanna carry those teddy bears everywhere!”
*
With an arm linked with Kira’s, Stiles started to walk towards the boardwalk. “Hmmm…” he thought about Kira’s question. “Games should be last because of that reason.” She had pretty much read his mind about that. “Rides first and then food? We wouldn’t to eat too much and then get sick on a ride. That would suck.” It seemed like a good plan of attack. And he was pretty sure Kira would agree with him.
*
Kira made a face when he mentioned getting sick and she knew he made a good point. “Rides first! Nothing too crazy. I still had a fairly big breakfast this morning.” She placed a hand over her stomach, wondering if her food baby was still there. If she had really thought about it, she would have only gone for some Eggos or something. Oh well.
“Ferris wheel?” She glanced up at the large ride in front of them. “And these things are safe...right?” She glanced at him with uncertainty.
*
Stiles smiled when he saw the look on Kira’s face. Yeah, she was definitely on the same page as him when it came to food and rides not mixing very well. “Now you’re just ruining it all,” he teased as he reached down and patted her stomach as well.
He followed her gaze and stopped walking. He wasn’t the biggest fan of Ferris wheels, but he’ll go on it if she really wanted to. “Most of them are,” he said, eyes still on ride and it slowly went around in a circle. “It doesn’t look too bad.” He finally looked away and looked at Kira. “Are we going on it?” He would leave it up to her.
*
“Hey!” She swatted at his hand as he patted it, laughing at the same time. “This is my food baby, you can’t just go around touching it! You’re not the father!” She shook her head and glanced from him to the ride in front of them. “Ummm...let’s try something not so high up. You know, in case that one isn’t the safest.” She didn’t like the idea of plummeting all the way down to the ground because a grounds crew person forgot to check everything. As much fun as boardwalk’s were, there was something about them that gave a weird vibe too.
“What about those tilt-a-whirl things? Those are fun! Then we can jell-o it and just smash into each other!”
*
Stiles pulled his hand away and then rested it on his chest, fake shock written all over his face as he gasped. “What do you mean I’m not the father? Have you been cheating on me?” He tried to keep the look on his face, but he ended up laughing after a minute.
“Okay, we can do something else.” He was kind of glad that Kira had changed her mind about that. Maybe later on they might both be brave enough to get on it, but for now they could go and tackle something else. “OoOo, yeah, let’s ride that first. Where is it?” he asked as he looked around, trying to figure out which way they needed to go.
*
Kira was just getting ready to roll her eyes, when he started to laugh. She tried to keep a straight face herself, but soon erupted into giggles. “You know I’d never cheat on you,” she said, glancing around for which way to go. She tugged on his arm and pulled them to the right. It was all a big circle anyway, right? They’d eventually find it. Maybe it would actually be for the best if they didn’t right away.
“Speaking of cheating on you, did I tell you I have a date after this.” She glanced at him and wiggled her eyebrows. “This will be date number two with this guy too. It’s kinda weird because I thought he thought I was stupid!” She shook her head, remembering their conversation about the last attack. Hopefully it was a joke between them now, but she was still getting to know Chase, she couldn’t be 100% sure.
*
“I know you wouldn’t. I trust you.” He smiled bright at Kira and then let himself be dragged in their new direction.
“What? No, you did not tell me this. Which guy is this again?” he asked, glancing over at Kira. “Dump him if he thought you were stupid right off the bat.” He was joking, of course. “Sooo, what kind of date is tonight? Movies? Fancy dinner?”
*
“Again?” She gave him a pretend surprise face, knocking her shoulder with his. “It’s only been that one night stand and this guy. I don’t think an ‘again’ is necessary!” Besides, she wasn’t even sure if Chase was a thing. It was kinda a second date, but that was it! No biggie. And Logan was...just for fun. Because she could do that now that she wasn’t living with her parents.
She smiled, but rolled her eyes at his comment, knowing he meant well by it. “You think I’d stay with anyone who thought I was stupid?” But even as she said it, she realized that there was a small possibility that he did think she was stupid. He had accused her of endangering the lives of other people. She knew where he was coming from, but she still remembered how lonely it had been to try and get through that attack on her own.
“Movies!” She said, coming back on topic. “Jurassic Park marathon actually! He was telling me about some of his dreams and they had dinosaurs in them! So that got me thinking about the Jurassic Park movies and he said he had them…” She held her hands out, tilting her head as the progression was explained. “He’s really cool. He’s got a PR agent!” She couldn’t help but sound impressed by it. “Some big football star I guess. The youngest to get recruited!” Kira had thought that was pretty cool, even if she didn’t know a lot about football. Still, she had gone home and watched a few of his videos and was impressed. He was a really good player.
“I think you guys would get along! He’s on the network! Have you ever talked to Chase Stein?”
*
“Not again?” he asked with a slight look of confusion. “I must be getting these guys mixed up.” It kind of sounded like he might have done just that. “Okay, okay, not again,” he said, giving her a little playful push.
“I would hope not.” But some girls were just weird and yeah, he didn’t really think Kira would put up with that shit, but this guy could be wooing her with his charm or something. Stiles’ mind was definitely starting to go off track and he needed to stop it before he really started to think of really bad thing.
“OoOo, nice. Love Jurassic Park.” Now he might have to go home and pop in the first movie. He could seriously watch that a billion times and never get bored of it. As Kira explained who this guy was, Stiles wasn’t all that impressed. Now if he were a baseball player, then he’d probably be impressed.
“Uhh…” He had to think about it for a moment. Had he spoken to anyone named Chase? “I…don’t think I’ve spoken to anyone with that name.” He shook his head, pretty sure about his answer, “yeah, nope, I don’t know any Chases.” Now the question. “Why do you think we would get along?”
*
“Same movie likes,” she said. “At least I’m guessing.” She thought about it and realized that she didn't really know why she had said that. She was still getting to know Chase and she wasn’t really sure about all his likes and dislikes. Maybe it was just the need for Stiles to like him, which she tried to tell herself didn’t matter. Things weren’t serious between her and Chase, it was just dating. “I dunno, I just thought you guys might.” She glanced to her right, the ride coming into view.
“Look, we’re almost there!” Good, distraction needed. “No promises on not puking on you.”
*
She was reaching, and Stiles knew it. “You barely know anything about this guy, huh?” It was pretty obvious or she would be saying a lot more than they both like Jurassic Park. “Maybe you should grill him, I mean, ask him stuff when you do your movie thing.” He smiled oh so sweetly at Kira. “Well, if guys end up becoming something serious then I will have to meet this dude.” And then they could see if they’d get along.
“Do not puke on me! Because if you do it then I’ll probably do it and then it’s just one messy chain reaction.” And he was trying not to imagine it. Damn his imagination! “Come on,” he said as he grabbed her by the hand and pulled her towards the line.
*
“It’s new.” She left it at that and allowed herself to be dragged into line. “At least it’s not as long as Disneyland, right?” She grinned, but knew that she would definitely wait longer for Space Mountain. “Which you haven’t been bugging me about going that much. Are you waiting for me to invite you? I might be able to snag some cast member invites to the Not So Scary Halloween Party!” She grinned, wiggling her eyebrows. Any other friend it wouldn’t really mean a lot, but she knew Stiles would know what it meant.
They were able to get onto the ride in the next group and Kira slid into the ride, pulling Stiles in after her. “Alright, no promises. Even though that sounds SUPER nasty and I hope it doesn’t happen.” She glanced at him and grinned, knowing (know hoping?) she’d be ok.
*
“Soooo! You should know a lot by now,” he teased. “Yeah, that’s true. Long lines suck.” Although, he’d wait hours if he had to for his favorite rides. “Maybe,” was his reply to her question. Although, getting into the Halloween party did grab his attention. “Dude, if you can do that, I might love you forever.” Who didn’t love the idea of going to Disneyland in a costume? He had done it before and it was pretty fun. He wouldn’t mind going again.
Stiles let himself be pulled along by Kira, climbing onto the ride after her. “Then don’t do it and we won’t have to end this ride in on a nasty note,” he said as he playfully elbowed her side.
*
The beginning of the ride wasn’t so bad and Kira held her hands out as they were whirled to and fro. It wasn’t until the end that she started to feel a bit of a headache coming on. Man, she wasn’t as young as she used to be. She closed her eyes for a moment, not wanting Stiles to see because she would only tease her and make it worse. Heaven help them if he actually made her laugh!
*
The ride was over just a quickly as it had started. Stiles had already started to climb out of the ride, stopping to make sure that Kira was following, but she wasn’t. “Oh god, you’re not going to barf, are you?” Because it kind of looked like it.
*
Kira held still for a moment, gathering her bearings and slowly shook her head. “No…” she finally managed, blindly reaching for him. “No, I’m alright. Just a bit...of a headache. You know?” She squinted over at him, feeling better now that her head wasn’t twirling around. She made it off the right and took a deep breath, in and out. Better.
“Alright!” she said, a bit perkier now. “We should definitely do something a little tamer than that...like a carousel or something.” She pointed a finger at him. “And nothing about how old I am.”
*
“Good.” Stiles still watched her, still wondering if she really would toss her cookies. But as the seconds passed, she seemed to look a little better.
“I don't know,” he started to say as they exited the ride area, “it goes around in circles too. You might get sick,” he teased, a huge smile on his face as he did so. “I would neevveeerr say anything about being old.” That was a lie. He was going to tease her for the rest of the night. “Let’s go ride some fake horses,” he told her as he led the way to the carousel.
