Who: Caroline and Enzo
What: Caroline breaks into Ciao Bella
When: Tonight
Where: Ciao Bella
Ratings/Warnings: Medium
It had been awhile since Caroline had been to Ciao Bella. It just hadn’t felt right. But tonight she didn’t care. Right or wrong, made no difference to her. She just wanted to have a good time. Enzo seemed like the perfect person for that. At least she hoped he was.
It was after hours, but Caroline saw a light on. She had a feeling Enzo was still there. Breaking the door handle she walked right in to the restaurant that was all too familiar. “Oh Enzo,” Caroline called her heels clicking on the floor as she walked further into the empty restaurant.
Everyone was going batshit crazy lately. He had no idea who had pissed in Damon’s cheerios and made him flip out awhile back, but he was not in the mood to deal with bullshit. He had a restaurant to run and a club he was trying to get off the ground. So when someone broke into his restaurant, he was about to drain the foolish person dry--until he heard the voice of Caroline and he froze and and frowned. What was she doing here? Especially after hours? They hadn’t talked since she dumped him for her now ex boyfriend. And where had that gotten her? No where.
“Caroline? What are you doing here? Was breaking my door handle really necessary?”
“I came to see you,” duh Enzo. Wasn’t that obvious? Had he lost brain cells since the last time she saw him or was he always this stupid? “I didn’t feel like waiting,” she added with a shrug in response to his last question. “So, where’s the wine?” she asked walking right past him back into the kitchen.
“Oh sure, just help yourself,” he muttered rolling his eyes and following her into the kitchen to pluck one of the more...affordable wines off the counter for her. No way was she going to be helping herself to something expensive. As it was, she was acting odd. Maybe she was just cranky since breaking up with her boyfriend. He poured her a glass of the wine and handed it over to her. “Well, I’m here. What did you need to see me for?”
Caroline grabbed a wine opener off the counter too and opened up the bottle Enzo handed her. She poured herself a glass taking a sip, a look of disgust appearing on her face. “Gross,” she almost even spit out the wine. She handed Enzo back the bottle and the glass. “I know, you have better wine than this,” she began to look around the kitchen for it before turning back around to face him. “Why are you holding out on me?” she pouted taking a step closer to him. “I just wanted to share a good bottle of wine with you,” she ran her fingers over his chest as she spoke. “Is that so wrong?” she asked looking at him with those big blue eyes of hers through her lashes.
“You know what? Fuck it,” Enzo went and got a good bottle of wine. He hadn’t exactly vented our let out any frustration since finding out Katherine had cheated on him with Damon when his former best friend was being an asshole. Caroline was providing him with the perfect opportunity to relieve some stress. She had definitely been a good lay when they were fooling around. “Nothing but the best for you, blondie,” he said as he popped the cork off his best bottle of wine and filled up two wine glasses, handing one of them over to her. “Always happy to share a bottle of wine with a beautiful woman.”
Caroline accepted the wine, but she wasn’t impressed. He had already disappointed her with giving her the cheap wine first. That was unacceptable. “Wasn’t the best a few minutes ago,” she retorted taking a sip, okay it did taste better. “You’re not as fun as I remember,” she pouted. “What happened? Katherine suck all the fun out of you?”
“Don’t even talk to me about that lying, cheating bitch” Enzo growled as he sipped his own wine. “And I’m not as fun because I have two businesses to one. One with the dick of a former best friend she cheated on me with. So you’ll excuse me if I’m pissed off right now, love. Don’t exactly have time to put you on a pedestal.” He pulled out some expensive chocolate and laid it in front of here. “Here. Try these. These are some of the new desert delicacies we are offering at Ciao Bella.”
Caroline rolled her eyes. She really care about Enzo’s problems. She didn’t really care about anything at the moment, other than having a good time. And she was so not having a good time right now. Chocolate was not making up for it either. She was a vampire. Wine and chocolate was nice, but she preferred blood. Maybe that’s what she needed. What would make her feel better. A nice warm meal.
“Oh my god, Enzo,” Caroline set her glass down on the counter. “I really don’t give a shit about you and Katherine. Or Damon. This is all so pathetic. And I’m bored,” she sighed with another dramatic eye roll. “I’m going to go find something more fun to do. You have fun with your chocolates.”
Enzo grabbed her by the arm and yanked her to him. She wasn’t leaving that easily. She broke into his restaurant, she stole his good wine. She didn’t get to just walk away. Not like this. NOt again. She was acting funny, like a real stone cold bitch, but he really didn’t care in the moment about her problems either. He just cared about getting his goddamn sexual aggression out and getting back at Katherine for being a cheating bitch. “I think I know what you want then, sweetheart. Far be it from me to deny you. You always were a good fuck,” he growled as he grabbed her hair and pulled it back before kissing her deeply.
Caroline found herself responding to the kiss, fingers tangling into his hair. Maybe she could have some fun tonight after all. Without even having to grab herself a living snack. But then, this wasn’t as fun as she thought it was going to be. Suddenly she pulled away. She spark of lust gone from her eyes. “You’re not as good of a kisser as I remembered,” Caroline said in a bored tone, hands dropping to her sides. “No wonder Katherine cheated on you.”
“Well darling, if don’t like it, there’s the door. You can gladly get the fuck out of my building and out of my life. But I’m not interested in your little games. Either you want to play or you can leave.” Her words stung, though he’d never admit it. He was still somewhat bitter that she dumped him for some college asshole. He would have treated her like a queen. And then the worst part of it all was his best friend and Katherine fucking. He hated it. He was never good enough, was he? “I don’t know who pissed in your cheerios, but I’m not in the mood for your games. But it’s no wonder your last relationship didn’t work out if you were this much of a bitch to him as you were to me.”
Insults? Really? Well that was at least a little hotter, better than throwing chocolate and wine her way. Didn’t exactly put her back in the mood though. “Feisty,” Caroline replied a small spark back in her eye. “It’s too bad you aren’t like this all the time, but I think I’ll pass.” She picked up the open bottle of wine. The expensive one, Caroline didn’t care about the cheap wine. “Thanks for the wine,” her tone was almost cheerful as she began to make her exit. “You might want to get your door fixed.”
If Enzo didn’t know any better, Caroline was acting as if she had turned off her...oh fuck. Vamping towards the door, he blocked the exit, plucking the wine bottle from her hands like she was an errant schoolgirl and looked at her with mild annoyance. “So, why’d you flip it? Couldn’t handle your perfectly perfect life anymore?”
“You’re certainly smarter than I remember,” she smirked, but not quite smart enough considering she hadn’t exactly flipped it. She had just woken up like this, but she wasn’t about to explain that. Didn’t care to. None of this was any of Enzo’s business. “Yup. That’s it. You got it,” even though she was being sarcastic she kept the cheerful tone in her voice. “Now as fun as this has been I’m leaving,” she snatched the wine back from him walking out of his restaurant.
Enzo wasn’t about to go chasing after her. He had better things to do frankly, and chasing after his bottle of wine wasn’t at the top of his list. If he had to, he’d simply go compel another one. Instead he took out his phone, intent on texting Elena, Damon--even though he fucking hated the man right now--anyone in order to get someone on this little problem. She didn’t seem...violent. Just...well...bitchy and void of the warm friendly attitude that made Caroline Forbes, well...Caroline Forbes. “Bye then, sweetheart.”
