Melinda was bored. It was after 8 o'clock, and Melinda had almost literally done nothing but chew through dry charms theory books, taking notes and trying to figure out why the dating spell wasn't working. The only breaks had been to eat lunch and Apparate home, and she'd continued on working. Her brain felt numb -- even a Ravenclaw can only take so much. She wasn't absorbing the words she was reading anymore, so Melinda decided she was done for the night. She'd worked through dinner, but her mother had left her a plate, so she was able to eat and consider what she might do to amuse herself.
Smirking a little, Melinda went up to her room and changed out of her stuffy work clothes. She didn't bother with a cloak, Apparating directly from her room into Alec's foyer. She stood still a moment, waiting to see if Alec would have heard her and come to investigate, but she didn't hear him. Probably working, then, in his little zone. She grinned to herself. That would just make her plan work even better. Quietly, Melinda headed in the direction of Alec's study, keeping her footsteps as light and quiet as possible.
Yes, there he was, bent over his desk, quill scratching away. Melinda took a deep, nearly-silent breath, and smiled. Carefully, she crept closer, freezing every time he shifted or stopped writing and drawing her wand when she was still a few feet away. When she was close enough, she pounced.
A hand went over his mouth, pulling his head back against Melinda's shoulder, and the tip of her wand dug in under his jaw. It was really, really hard not to giggle, but Melinda managed to keep her voice steady when she spoke, just barely above a whisper, drawing each word out slowly. "I want you to take out your wand and place it on the desk." God damn this was fun.
