What: celebrating Romilda being alive!
When: Tuesday evening.
Where: Romilda & Ross's flat.
Warnings: Likely.
Status: Incomplete
In truth, it hadn't taken all of Monday to get herself cleaned up. Romilda simply hadn't felt like going back to work; she felt that she had earned the rest. Of course, she'd gone back in to work today, and things had suddenly felt like nothing had really happened.
Which was why she'd written about it. She didn't want to forget what it had been like, the moments of panic and terror, and she especially didn't want to forget the feeling of accomplishment. If she had someone to celebrate that accomplishment with, well, so much the better.
She was in the living room of the flat now, working on the scarf she'd begun knitting. For reasons that were probably obvious, her adventure in the woods had inspired her to make more cold weather accessories, and her scarf had come in particularly handy for making a splint for Felixa's ankle. It had been buried in the snow overnight, after the splint had come off, and Romilda hadn't spent much time looking for it: instead, she was making an homage to it. A new scarf, that would remind her of what the old one had accomplished. Maybe someday she and Felixa would find that heroic scarf, maybe they wouldn't. She kind of liked the idea of it remaining out there in the woods, marking the spot.
Legs curled under her, her hands moved quickly, needles smoothly manipulating the yarn. Knitting was relaxing, but it was also rather like a battle, Romilda thought; her hands were doing battle with each other using the sharpened needles, fighting valiantly and elegantly. The thought made her laugh to herself, and she shook her head. She had probably been knitting too long, but she should get as much done as she could before David arrived to distract her. She was expecting him here soon.
