It had been a very long night. So far as Harry knew, not only his plans but Ron's as well had gone through, not necessarily without a hitch, but they'd all gotten home safely. He was still smarting from their earlier argument, though the relief that all of them had made it back in one piece was doing wonders for getting rid of that.
It was the sleep, and breakfast, that helped most of all, though. Once he felt vaguely human, and actually felt like he'd done something to save someone - even though he was sure he'd only put other people in danger by daring to act, and so had Ron and the Death Eaters, by hitting the Ministry - he felt bad for practically accusing Ron of being a traitor.
Not that he wanted to excuse the way Ron had been treating him, because it wasn't alright. It was the way Dumbledore had treated him, too, and that had gotten them here in the first place. But he did want to work with Ron, not turn the tables on him, so he had to make amends.
When he managed to catch a moment alone with his friend, he said softly, "Look, I'm sorry about some of the things I said yesterday," he said. "I know you're on our side. It just feels awful, being told I'm 'too important' to do anything. I don't see how I'm even important if I'm not doing anything, anyway." He really hadn't intended to say that much right off the bat, so he stopped himself, and repeated the important part. "I'm sorry."
