Who: Charlie and Penelope
What: Charlie intends to get very, very drunk
When: Friday
Where: The Leaky Cauldron
Warnings: TBA
Charlie had done as he promised, making burgers for himself and Tonks when she got home from work. But prior to his act of domesticity, he had finished all his paperwork to allow him to work from home and just check in with the office every week. He didn't know why they were so insistent on him checking in every week, when he could easily just send the paperwork by owl, but he agreed. He was just glad they were willing to let him do this. He also agreed to visit when called on, since they'd need help with the dragons in emergency situations.
He wasn't too thrilled about his decision, though he was going to stick by it. He had never felt as if his family needed him as drastically as he did these days. His vacation had shown him that he was needed and he couldn't pretend everything was 'A-Ok' off in Romania and be alright with himself. But that didn't mean he was excited about essentially signing away everything he liked about his job. In fact, he was a wee bit bitter about it, though he wasn't going to tell his family that. He had a duty to them and he believed in his duty. If he mentioned how ruddy pissed off he was because he felt compelled to be there, he was certain he'd hear things like "No one told you to come home!" or "You didn't have to!"
Those were all very valuable points. Which was why he was going to just be quiet about his misery and well, drink. It had been awhile since he had drank himself into a stupor, but he was considering it a possible outcome for this evening. He had already checked in with the Leaky for a room, as he didn't want to do that to Tonks. He didn't want to make any of his family deal with him in that state and Tonks was family.
He was sitting in the back of the Leaky, on his third pint, feeling mighty happy now. It was alcohol induced happiness but better then nothing, aye?
