Rae was not typically a party type person. She preferred quiet evenings with a few close friends rather than something big and loud. However, she'd come to find that seeing Duke led her to participate in things she normally would never have chosen to do herself. He brought her out of her comfort zone and, so far, that had been working out well. She anticipated that tonight would be no exception.
She was planning on taking her own initiative and meeting new people at the party since she imagined she wouldn't know half of the people who came to this thing. However, she was planning on greeting the host first, seeing as he was the main reason she was even here.
Before getting a drink, Rae found Duke on the balcony and, standing behind him, reached up on her tip toes and covered his eyes with her hand. "Boo," she laughed, unable to pretend she wasn't Rae. Whatever, he would have figured out it was her, anyway.
