Hermione had gotten to the Hogshead early as she was constantly finding herself with little to do these days. It wasn't even that she wished they were still on the run searching for horcruxes because she was unbelievably glad that was over. However, it was difficult to adjust to a life where she didn't have some major responsibility to see to. She was going to have to find a job and fast, not only so she and Ron could get a flat, but so that she had something more to do with her time than just wandering around aimlessly. Hermione Granger was not an aimless person.
She also missed Harry like crazy. After nearly five years of sharing a tent with him and Ron, not having Harry living with them was undeniably odd. Perhaps it was even odd to miss having her best friend living with her, but it was what it was. She felt a small twinge of jealousy whenever she thought about his new coworkers and Ginny seeing him more often than she and Ron did, but she knew that would go away as she adjusted to their new lives. She was happy that everyone was able to move on with their lives and even if it was odd for now, she would get used to it.
Besides, she was very much so looking forward to having a place with just Ron.
She had left a note for Ron to meet her and Harry here this evening. Harry had mentioned having something to show the two of them and Hermione was eager to find out what it was. She didn't have anything terribly interesting to share, so she was anxious to hear something from someone else. Yes, Hermione seriously needed a job. Idle hands did not work well with her personality.
Sitting at a table near the back, Hermione sipped on some butterbeer--Merlin, she had missed the taste of this stuff--and waited. It would be nice to have the three of them together again for a little while.
