Before coming off of whatever it was that had kept her head in a fog, before realizing everything that had happened to her family, Patience probably would not have been able to put her finger on what it was she loved so much about the Weasleys. Individually, and together - they had a sense of family that she had felt when her family was alive, when she was in Hufflepuff house. She'd loved that even when she had it at home, but since the deaths of her brother and her parents, she'd lost the feeling of that in many ways. Being at the Burrow for dinner made her feel as though she'd found it again, even for a night. The company and the delicious food made her feel warm all over, and when the evening was drawing to a close, she suggested to Fred that they take a walk. Not because the company inside was cloying, and making her feel the need for air, but because the contrast of cool air and empty space around her would allow the warmth sink in properly before she returned home.
She took his hand as they left the house, and walked quietly beside him for a few moments, staying close, though not for warmth. "I still owe you a birthday hug," she said after a little while, looking over at him with a smile. "You can also have a birthday kiss, if you want one."
