FIC: Be Still My Broken Heart, TNA, Alex S/Kevin N, FRM
Title: Be Still My Broken Heart Author: Charlanka (ka) Rating: FRM Pairing: Alex Shelly/Kevin Nash, Kevin/Belle, past Alex/Belle Summary: He opened the door the rest of the way, leisurely stretching again, popping the joints in his spine back into place. It'd be rude of him not to lend a hand. No rest for the wicked then. Warning: Slash, het, Angst, infidelity. Author Notes: This fic is the result of a series bunny, a realization, and three revisements. The third revisement is what you're about to read and I hope y'all enjoy it. Thank you to Pandy, who I think I converted to Wrestledom during her last minute betaing. XD I have nothing against Alex's real girlfriend, whatever her name is, but my bunny didn't want anyone else. I actually wish she and Alex a happy, long, and prosperous relationship together. There will be a sequel (nearly finished). :D Disclaimer: Don't own, don't sue, ain't got the money to pay you.
Alex opened the front door slowly as to not make any sound in case Kevin was sleeping. His flight was delayed until the evening and the hinges on their door liked to creak. He could never find any time to oil them. He definitely would be adding it to his To Do List, and with one whole week of uninterrupted vacation time, he was going to make sure of that. Kevin was hopeless when it came to small repairs.
One day for housework, six days to spend with Big Sexy.
Absolute paradise.
He set his bags down by the door and toed off his shoes, stretching on the way to the kitchen. Airplane compact seats didn't agree with his muscles, despite his small frame. Alex was peering into the fridge for something to snack on when he first heard it.
"Mmm...s!" Kevin's muffled cry came.
He straightened, straining his ears. Had his entry woken him up?
Alex was about to brush it off as a figment of his imagination when, seconds later, he heard it again, only this time it was louder.
He closed the fridge and walked carefully to their bedroom so he wouldn't make any noise just in case he really was hearing things.
Alex knocked lightly before entering, pushing the door half open. He smirked as he heard quiet pants and moans, figuring his boyfriend must be masturbating. He opened the door the rest of the way, leisurely stretching again, popping the joints in his spine back into place. It'd be rude of him not to lend a hand. No rest for the wicked then.
"Kev?" Alex said softly while his eyes adjusted to the dark.
"Kevin!" A woman screamed, drowning out his call.
Alex froze, his breath catching in his throat as her passion-filled cry echoed around the room. The pure dark subsided to show the form of his boyfriend intimately wrapped around a woman in the bed they shared. He couldn't choke back a pained gasp and he could barely see the woman tense up while her eyes popped open.
"Oh my god, Alex!" Her surprised shout was strong enough to motivate Kevin to roll away onto his back, propped up by his elbows.
How the hell did that tramp know his name?
"Alex, we can explain!" The woman spoke again with a now somewhat familiar voice.
Did she know him?
Alex raised a numb hand to flip the switch, flooding the room with light. And with the illumination came the unmistakable identity of Kevin's not-so-secret-lover.
There wasn't a doubt in his mind that he was staring at the shocked and guilty features of Belle Andrews, his last ex-girlfriend and former best friend.
Kevin threw his long legs over the edge of the bed, wrapping the undersheet around his waist to cover his naked body. "Alex," He began hesitantly.
"No, just no!" Alex waved him off, bolting out of the bedroom to the living room. He couldn't deal with this right now. His heart was painfully beating against his ribcage, robbing him of air. He couldn't stay in-- in this place one second longer or he felt like he was going to be violently ill. Bile was already clawing at the back of his throat. Alex blindly groped for his bags, barely remembering to pick them up. But he brought most of his gear with him and there was no way he'd come back here so soon after...
He yanked the door open, hardly registering the pound of feet and pleas for him to stay, to listen to their feeble excuses. Alex loved Kevin, but right from the beginning he let him know his opinion on infidelity and how he felt about cheaters. And even with that knowledge, he had slept with his best friend! Heartache briefly forgotten for the comfort of growing anger, Alex pivoted on his heel to face Kevin and Belle.
"We," Alex growled, motioning between Kevin and himself. "are over. Lose my number and delete my email address. Don't contact me in any way. I'll call you before I come over to pick up the rest of my stuff." He didn't give him any time to answer, instead turning to Belle. "I amazingly have nothing to say to you right now, but don't worry, I probably will later." He said with false assurance, nodding his head and biting his bottom lip. Definitely.
Every inhale was like a sharp knife cutting into his heart and with every exhale it felt like the knife ripped piece after piece of his heart out. It caused him to vaguely wonder if a person could die from a broken heart. And with that all said, and that last thought in mind, he turned back around and slammed the door behind him. Leaving only a resounding echo of the growing emptiness in his heart to show he'd ever been there that night.
