Christmas Tree, Oh Christmas Tree
WHO: Gregory Goyle, Lavender Brown, Gertrude Goyle (npc) WHEN: Christmas Day WHERE: Stone Keep WHAT: Christmas morning RATING: low
Gregory had risen early, as he did most mornings, but today he had a purpose in being up just at the crack of dawn. It was Christmas Day and he loved the early morning peace and the anticipation of gifts and food and family even if it never seemed to live up to his expectations once the rest of the household stirred. But for now, he could slip through the Floo to his father's town house to leave his gifts for his father and stepmother and little sister under the tree in their parlor. There was firewhiskey for his father, a new glove and scarf set for his stepmother and a tiny chest of drawers for Gretchen. He'd carved her a new piece of furniture for her beloved doll house every year and he hoped that she never outgrew them as he enjoyed making the tiny, intricate things as much as she enjoyed playing with them.
Once back home to Stone Keep he found that Aunt Gertrude had been through their parlor to leave his gifts and a few for Lavender to judge by labels. Grinning, he put out the gifts he'd bought for the women in his home and lit the candles on the tree. After turning on the wireless to fill the house with soft Christmas music, he pulled on his coat and went to feed the animals as his gift to the farm workers every year was the day off in addition to their bonuses and hams.
