I woke up at dawn, and the strangest sensation came over me. It was a feeling of the purest, most serene knowledge that although I've outlived my purpose, that there was more out there for me to accomplish.

I do believe this new era has finally gotten to me.

One has to wonder what one's fiancee does when she's away. I must say, however, that in this instance I'm rather glad that I don't know the particulars.

And how are you all, this rather gloomy day? Quite a bit of rain is falling on our beloved city.

What in bloody hell is this Facebook that people keep nattering on about when in my shop, and why is it so damned important to have one?

Oh. This place again. I'd really prefer it if it made up its mind, should it have one.

EDIT: Locked away from cop/crime fighter type people

Okay. I thought I understood this place, but I was just going over to where my wife and her ... young lady live, when my fancy-ass cell phone rang. It was one of "my girls" calling from a hospital. Cryin' and tellin' me she got roughed up by a john.

I haven't run girls since before I went to prison. Like, the 1950s even. But this ain't the '50s.

Still. Don't like it when a woman gets roughed up. Went and took her home. Thanked me real nice, especially when I told her if she sees him again, call me and I will make it damn clear how that punk ought to treat a lady.

I gotta find a way out of this. Calliope'll kick my ass ... but apparently there's like ten of those girls and who the hell else would watch over 'em? And how the hell did I get the job in the first place?

I'm sure you lot have had plenty of time to get back your scruples. I sure have. What scruples I've ever owned, at least.

My goodness, what a delightful notion I just had - I believe I'll keep longer hours now. No need for an early bedtime when my work's all but cut out for me, don't you all agree?

Ugh.

You'd think I told investors I was going to impale their first born, not that I had to reschedule a meeting for late evening. I'm the CEO for a fairly large bank, dear ones, I get to schedule the meetings.

Makes me miss how business was done in the old days.

I wonder how she's taking to things.
Looking far too much like her mother; I'm sure she's had no trouble getting all that she wishes.

I rather detest having to do things so dramatically. You people need to look past the bloody obvious.
You're the ones who would consider an impressionist's art not but a bunch of daubs of color, and not the beautiful landscapes that they truly are.
Pitiful, miserable, thickheaded men.

[[Over the course of the last few days, the London papers have been reporting serial murders in Whitechapel, as well as 'possibly connected' unexplained deaths. These deaths have not been linked to anyone, and their suspect lists are fairly long. Today's issues will now have stories about mass murders and unexplained deaths in the West End district, and a strange string of deaths starting from Nine Elms, dipping down as far south as Tulse Hill, and ending in Nunhead. All the obvious murders had their throats slashed. The total body count is up to 15 for the known murders. If one were to draw a red mark for each place a death occured on a map, it would most assuredly make a very grim sort of smiley face on the map.]]

Just thought I'd share with you all something that brightened my day!

Don't you just love the news?

I think it's better than a stand-up comedian. This Li guy. What a cut-up!

Oh dear.

This is certainly not what I had expected. Lucy? Johanna? Antony?

Mrs. Mooney?

[[Sweeney is from an AU which Lucy and Johanna were waiting for him, none of the bollocks with Judge Turpin occurred after he was sent to Australia. He's regular ol' Benjamin Barker, father and husband.]]

She walks in beauty, like the night
Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
And all that's best of dark and bright
Meet in her aspect and her eyes:
Thus mellowed to that tender light

One shade the more, one ray the less,
Had half impaired the nameless grace
Which waves in every raven tress,
Or softly lightens o'er her face;
Where thoughts serenely sweet express,
How pure, how dear their dwelling-place.

And on that cheek, and o'er that brow,
So soft, so calm, yet eloquent,
The smiles that win, the tints that glow,
But tell of days in goodness spent,
A mind at peace with all below,
A heart whose love is innocent!

I've been told there are interested parties wishing to speak with me? Things are slow at the shop, so I've closed early and have all the rest of today and tomorrow to spare.

An open forum's such a nice place to discuss the darker side of business. Let's say tonight, 9pm, [address of pub at Fleet Street].

[Locked from Atton:] So, how long is acceptable before you start asking your fiance why you haven't made wedding plans? I feel stupid, but what if the vortex takes him away again before we get married? [/Locked]

I need to get a lightsaber back in my hand. Fellow Jedi, have you made yours, and if so, how?

Right, time to count heads.

How many of you look like I do? I've counted two others, I'm just making sure I haven't missed anyone that happens to be blessed with our timeless good looks.

(Not including hair, of course. I've been told the vampire one's got dreadlocks!)

So many odd things inspire me these days. Not just in the sense of my art, my job. But in life as well. The music of the day is pure, it's beautiful in its discordance.

Anyone have any suggestions for what a man who has missed a century and a half of music and entertainment should listen to or watch?

Here be a simple announcement to proudly state...

Sweeney Todd's Barber Shop is having its grand reopening starting Monday

I've got a good plenty of interesting curiosities to keep my guests well occupied while they wait, including some history about myself and my store. Things like replicated penny dreadfuls which were put out after my death, the history of the darker side of London and of course, I myself and my ladies.
Do come by. The store hours are 9 am to 9pm, six days a week. I still give the closest shave you'll ever have, and still do hair trimming, though polishing you off might not be on the course of events.

That being said... I'd like to also give a special thanks to the other ladies in my life who've helped me acclimate myself to the changes of the world, and have treated me as a gentleman, and not as a spectacle. Thank you.

Oh bloody hell, this place again? I thought I'd got enough of it the first time around.

At least the powers that be saw fit to let me continue what I'm good at, brand of Sargent's this time, don't recall that's what it was before but it might've been.

At least it's good to know that London's still the horrible, steaming pit of diarrheal fluid it was when I died. Just less noticeably so.

Now, who'd like to inform a gentleman as to why he's here and not mouldering in a shallow grave?
