The Flying Dutchman
I apologise because I never wanted to hurt or anger you. I apologise because I have memories of ten years spent on you that I never experienced personally but would not give up for anything nonetheless. I apologise because to not do so would be nothing more than rudeness and arrogance. And as much as I wish to make things easier for you, in this I cannot yield.
We had a friendship before, one that with time could have been something more, if not for my marriage to Elizabeth and your hatred of her. I assume you had no such hatred for Admiral Norrington, or my feelings for him. I am not claiming anything other than a deep sense of regret that I do not have you in my life, in whatever capacity you are comfortable with.
We do both work for an Endless. And we are most likely on somewhat the same level. But my duties are not governed just by Lady Death, but by the Lord as well. And your worth is that of so much more than mine. You should be at a higher level than I.
