New friends, new hobbies, hopefully soon a new job, plus I've found someone to spar with, plus all the mochas I can drink. I'm beginning to like it here.

And this pizza stuff? Best invention ever. I think I could eat it for the rest of my life and be happy. Especially with double cheese and pepperoni.

Yes?

Er, sorry, have we met?

I - no, sorry. Must have been a different Alistair. You just reminded me of him.

Oh, and just a hint? Get a peppermint mocha. Mindblowing.

Oh, ah, sorry, no. I've heard about there being another one. Were you friends? ...what happened to him?

Right, peppermint, I'll make a note of that. Sounds amazing.

We were friends, yeah. We went on a date once, but his girlfriend came back from his world and they were super cute together. I don't know what happened, I assume he went back to Ferelden.

It really is. Oh, and just wait until the holidays come around! Eggnog lattes are a reason to live, I swear.

He had a girlfriend? Who came here? ...lucky bastard. I didn't know it was possible to go back. Huh. Well, unfortunately, I'm not the same guy. Nice to meet you, though. ...wait, I haven't met you. Sorry for asking, but, ah, what's your name?

Eggnog? What in the world is eggnog? Is it made from actual eggs? Because...eeeyugh!

She was a dwarf. Sereda, I think? I forget. I liked her, she was sassy. And yeah, people can go back, just not when they want to. It's like being brought here, that wooshy thing decides it's time, and bam. I'm Dani, Dani Winchester. Nice to meet you too, new Alistair.

It is! But it's got loads of other stuff mixed in, some of which I suspect is cocaine. My sister would probably stab someone in the kidney to get at some, I'm not kidding.

Doesn't ring any bells; guess I never met her. Oh well. Hope the vortex doesn't grab me back, I'm frankly preferring it here. Also I'd probably die from lack of caffiene. Pleasure to meet you, Dani.

How can a drink made from eggs be worth drinking? Even with loads of other stuff? I've been told a lot of unbelievable things since I arrived here but that's high up on the list of improbable, I've got to tell you. It sounds like the sort of thing evil little boys dare each other to drink when no one's looking.

Oh, Thedas doesn't have caffeine? What kind of jacked up place is that? And here I thought that it sounded nice.

It's sweet and creamy and usually people put enough rum in it to embalm bodies. I'll have to make you try some.

Usually Christmastime - a winter holiday where we get drunk and give each other presents and snog under parasitic plants. Super fun. But my sister's a chef, I can get her to whip us up some now.

Unless you're chicken.

Kissing under parasitic plants? Strange holidays you have here.

..you're determined to introduce me to all sorts of new and bizarre foods, aren't you. Do you do this with everybody?

But regardless, I'm game. I've drunk worse things.

We do it for Jesus! ... that means nothing to you, does it? Think of him as a teeny baby Andraste.

Of course I do, I love watching people make 'oh, God, what is this, why does she hate me' faces. ... like what? I can only dare to imagine what Qunari made you drink.

...you show respect for a teeny baby Andraste equivalent by smooching underneath parasitic plants? And I thought they had odd customs up in Antiva!

I don't mind food experimentation really. Can't be worse than eating my own cooking. And...huh, I honestly don't know if I'm allowed to tell you or not. Nothing Qunari related, thank the Maker. I have no idea what their food was like. ...blight it, now I'm going to wonder about that, and I have no way of finding out!

Ugh, don't get me started on Antivans. One of them used to spy on my ex-girlfriend and me.

Not allowed to tell me? ... secret food? Hmmm. Now I'm curious, darn it!

Traveled with him for years. Useful in a fight, I'll certainly give him that. And he proved trustworthy enough despite making about the worst first impression ever when he tried to kill us. But modesty or respect for other people's modesty, noooooot so much. I haven't talked to him much since I arrived here but from the sound of it he hasn't changed.

No no, the problem was that I can't go out with Aveline because she's married. Excuses not applicable.

Though that's an interesting mental image. Don't tell her I said that

I do too, it's not like I go humping the legs of every person I think is pretty in the world. That would be just awkward.

I've run into a useful term since arriving here: limbo. She's married, but her husband's not here. He's not dead, they're not divorced, he's just...not here. He could show up. Or he might not show up. No one knows. Honestly, I don't know if I should feel guilty for coveting another man's wife or not in the circumstances.

Hilarious mental image, though.

I don't think you should. Sometimes people come back, but not always. Let me tell you a story - my friend and I were married to people, and one day, both of our spouses disappeared. We were really upset, and there was a lot of champagne involved and at one point there was a quickie vegas wedding. People disappear all the time, Alistair, and sometimes they don't ever come. And usually once they've disappeared, they don't come back.

You're welcome.
