I believe I have figured out how to lock missives to the person they are intended for. ooc: Indeed he has, so no hacking, Damon, wink.

I wish to know what your brother is. Possessed by a demon? Or merely possessed of a wicked sense of humor? Claiming he used to "eat" Templars? The Templars I knew were dangerous, cutthroat and powerful. Was he merely using slang I am unused to, or is he something I need to consult a priest over?

I don't intend to "take him on", especially if he's some kind of ... vampiro. All I want to do is know. If you were in Firenze and Venezia in 1480, 1490, you know of me. You know I can handle myself against anyone ... human.

I don't need to know details of your intimate lives, nor would I ask; I still try to be a gentleman from time to time. But if you speak truth ... how? You spoke of you both falling in love with a vampira?

And should I bother asking? You are his brother. If he came for me, would you help him kill me? I have no quarrel with you. I would have no quarrel with him if he had not mocked the murder of my family.

Her name was Katherine, and we didn't know what she was at the time, she played us both for fools, telling us each in secret, letting us each think she'd told us alone. It didn't take us long to find out, of course, and in our arrogance we demanded she choose, instead she faked her own death and we killed each other over her, not knowing until years later, after she nearly killed us again, that she was still alive.

Damon's fights are his own, they always have been. Especially the ones he starts. For that matter, I kill no one who hasn't tried to kill me first. But if you come for him instead, I will defend him. He's my brother and as often as we disagree we're all we have left.

You have no need to fear me coming for him. If it is a choice of swallowing an insult or facing certain death at the hands of a mad vampiro, I will sacrifice honor and swallow the insult. I am not a fool.

But I thank you for the brief review. If this Katherine comes for you, I offer my aid, though I doubt you will require it. Hopefully you will not blame me if my offer extends to you only.
