It was a beautiful day today. I took a walk - something I've not done for quite some time. The air was crisp and smelled like fall. I'd almost forgotten to notice such things. It made me think again of my idea to get a dog. While it would certainly have been nice to have a companion for my walk this afternoon, I realized that right now, my lifestyle is simply not conducive to having pets. I'm not home enough. I wouldn't have the time to walk a dog, provide it with company, or to care for it properly. A dog deserves better than I can give it. Likewise a cat; though they wouldn't require the sort of time commitment a dog would, after thinking about it I don't think I'm much of a cat person.
Maybe one day.
It's Saturday night. Time to catch up on some paperwork. |
