Well, ah, this is all, sort of confusing.

Where did the Daily Planet go?

Oh, this is going to be pretty confusing to explain. We're in an alternate universe. There's no Metropolis and no Daily Planet, unfortunately. Are you all right?

Again?

N-no Metro--... Lois, what about Smallville?

Isn;t an alternate universe a bit science fiction-ey for you?

You've been here before. Twice. And vanished each time.

Ther'es no Smallville either. I'm sorry, Clark. I live in London now and work for the London Times.

It is, and I would never have believed it if you -- a different you who was here before, obviously -- hadn't explained it to me. Sometimes people disappear from here as suddenly as they came, but there's no trace of them when they vanish. People we know might show up or might not and we don't know if there's a way home. It's an alternate universe where... a lot of weird things can happen.

There's a lot to explain. You might want to hear it in person.

Ouch... I am sorry.

Wow. Er, London? Really?

A different me? This is all sort of above me, really. Why would anyone do such a thing?

I could book a flight? Where in London could I meet you?

It wasn't your fault, those times.

Well, when we arrive, we replace someone's life. We get their job, their residence, and it's like you've always lived that life. It was just easier to stay in London where I already had a prestigious job at the paper here.

No one knows who or what controls the vortex, if anything. It brings in all sorts of people from all different universes and sometimes brings in two of the same person from different times in their life. I'm really no good at explaining this science fiction-y stuff.

There are some wizards here -- yes, wizards -- who set up a portkey network. If you touch a portkey, it allows you to travel instantly to another portkey in the network. So you could come here, or I could come to you, wherever you are. Where is that, exactly? If you still want to come to London, here's my [address].

Ah... um, all of that sounds, well a little odd, yes.

I would like that. I could, ah, come to you.

I'm where the Planet should be, an internet cafe, of all things.

I will be there as soon as I can.

It's a lot to get used to. But I'll explain as much as I can.

There's no hurry, I'll be here.
