That was ... strange. Didn't think it was tornado season. Anybody mind explaining to me why I got hit with one? Maybe a little help with where I am now? I mean, smells like California, maybe Oregon, in either case pretty sure I'm out by Goose Lake, and I know that's not where I was before I got caught in that storm.

Better than the ripe Vegas smell of smoke and hookers I landed in. Vortex must like you better than most.

Look at [website]. It's the standard explanation.

Welcome to the insanity.

Guess I'm just lucky like that. Don't suppose there's any real way to get home? Not like walking down Spruce Mountain and ending up on the reservation, or taking the right path up Spruce Mountain and ending up at the Turquoise Place, hm?

Afraid not.

Well, that's not exactly true. There might be a Turquoise Place here. Same as there's Spirit Lights. But I haven't heard from anyone out that way, save brother Coyote, and it's not like he'd give you a straight story. You might want to check, just in case.

Grandad's here? And which of the uncles are you? I rather lost track a while ago.

Gr-

You're one of Estanatlehi's boys, then? I hate this damn impersonal technology, sometimes.

Guguyni. Or Raven, or Johnathan Blackfeather, I've really stopped caring.

How's it hanging?

Huh. You're younger than the last time I saw you. Though not too much whiter. Well, maybe a little.

I'm Sunset, ask me again in the morning and I'll be the other one though. Ahiga works. Huyana does too.

Well apparently I'm a park ranger now, so... about the same as always, just official-like now.

Oh, a lot whiter. It's getting worse. Getting back on my res was a bit of a trick, but the collective rectum's starting to loosen, so I can't complain. As for younger... eh.

Ahiga for now, then. And good for you! Someone really needs to start taking care of what's left of the land. I got alloted a third-rate celeb gig- gambler, hello, Irony- but I've been doing what I can. Which park?

I was right about it being Goose Lake. So that's the Goose Lake State Park. Heh, state park ranger, nice. Not really sure what I'm doing living here in the off-season, but I'm not going to complain.

You're no more tied down to it now than you were before. We can even travel here, which has been nice. And trust me when I say, even in the off season, it'll probably keep you on your toes.

Skinwalkers. In large numbers. Just to warn you.

Hey, while I'm thinking on it- you wouldn't happen to know if your darling mother's around, would you? Magpie and I haven't seen hide or hair of her, but then, that isn't saying too much.

Skinwalkers huh? Haven't run across any of those in a while. They the bite first and ask questions later kind? Or the 'well damn it's that time of month again, better go outside' kind?

Haven't seen her in a while no, last time I went visiting all her Animals were there, but she was out.

It's a bit of a mix. There's some of them on these boards, even, although they seem pretty tame. I was too busy over the moon to really go see for myself.

Figures. Oh, well, when she feels like it, she'll wander by. There's a constant flux of people in and out of this place.

I'll have to keep an eye out, come the moon. Could be interesting to watch anyway.

That's Ma. And it's anybody's guess if anyone'll recognize her when she does.

Oh, there's plenty interesting to watch, here. No one bats an eye at the myths walking around in the open, anymore. And this place has... some sense of humor, from what I can tell. You'll like it here.

Well, I for one will keep an eye out. There aren't too many of us here, at least not so Old. Mostly, it's the Greeks. Surprise, surprise.

Well then maybe I'll do a bit of walkabout as soon as I find out what I'm doing here on the off-season, been a while since I've had a proper walkabout.

And since when is that a surprise to anyone?

If you want company, just ask. The poker season (did you know, it has a season? Honestly.) is winding down, so I've got more and more time on my hands, and you know what that's like.

My point exactly. They're civil. Mostly. I've been trying to ignore the whole ordeal, although it's not easy spending so much time in the city.

You know how to find Goose Lake, right? Besides following the Geese, of course.

As long as they're being civil I suppose I can just leave them alone.

I can get there, sure. A lot easier to fly in this place- more power in the land, or something.

Oh, I don't mean don't mess with them. Just that it's not as... tense, as before. There's enough here, the infighting keeps them occupied most of the time.

You're welcome to come by then, I'm just in the main camp cabin at the moment, at least, seems like that's where I am.

Ah-aha, well that'll be fun to watch too I bet.

It might be a day or so. I'm supposed to be having dinner with my woman tonight. But I'll stop by, we can have a drink or something.

Oh, believe me, it is. Just don't get caught laughing- their sense of humor's even worse.

Take your time, I've got to get a lay of the land again, been a while since I've been this far north. And might well be a reason I'm the only one here, I'll have a look around.

Oh I know better than that. Ma's got damn good aim with a spoon. I learned real quick not to get caught laughing.
