Who: Lady Lyanna Mormont & Brienne of Tarth
What: Women be fightin' for the North
When: A quiet night, after dinner
Where: Winterfell dining hall
Warnings: N/A
Brienne had watched the young Lady Mormont with interest since her first day in the halls of Winterfell. The North was a strange place, where people beyond the Wall had come seeking shelter from a dead army and where the Old Gods still lived and breathed in the veins of the people. It was a place where they valued honor and did not shy from rallying behind a young girl, barely over the age of ten. Lady Lyanna ruled a dying house, but her reign was strong.
Darkness had fallen, flames from the dining hall breaking through the shadows. Most had enjoyed their supper and found their ways to the warmth of their beds, but Brienne was awake and so, it seemed, was the young lady. She waited until the young leader's conversation had ended before approaching, bowing her head respectfully as she did so. "My lady, I am Brienne of Tarth, I serve Sansa Stark. May I have a word?"
Brienne was no stranger to Winterfell now, but she did not presume to be known by all. She stated her name and her purpose clearly, in the only way she knew how. It did not surprise her that those who kept Lady Lyanna company stared at the armor-clad woman before them, but no one spoke. Not until given orders to do so.
