Morning Pleasantries Who: Alison and Samuel Where: Turner Estate When: Saturday Morning - November 13
After making her way downstairs wrapped in a robe, and having retrieved the morning paper from the front porch, Alison moved through the house toward the kitchen where the blond started a pot of coffee brewing before sitting down at the table to read the paper. Being the weekend she was expected her college boarders to be rising anytime soon, that unfortunately couldn't be said for the distant relatives she had living under her roof. Lenore, Samuel and/or Quinn could awake at any moment to find their way downstairs. And it was with that thought that Alison grasped the moment of alone time to enjoy the peacefulness of the morning with a cup of coffee and reading of the morning paper.
That moment didn't last for too long. Samuel hadn't wanted to get out of bed so early, but, as soon as he woke up, he had to get out of bed. As soon as he was dressed, he made his way downstairs in order to get a cup of coffee, giving a nod to Alison as he did so.
"Samuel." Alison acknowledged the man when he stepped foot into the kitchen as she had caught the sound of faint footfalls moving down the stair a brief moment before. And though she couldn't quite distinguish those steps between the brothers, Alison certainly knew by now the scents that separated Samuel from his brother, Quinn.
Samuel also knew the distinct differences between the smells of a werewolf and a vampire. "Alison," he said back to her as he started to make himself a cup of coffee.
Well, wasn't this a pleasant little moment they were having. Alison, though, wasn't about to let the unsettling distance between them spoil the good start to her morning. This was Samuel after all, not Quin whom she still was having issues with since she let the Turners live in the house.
"Did you have a good night?" The blond inquired as she flipped from one page of the morning paper to the next. Polite, general conversation was something she had never found a problem with, especially with those she found herself living with.
"It wasn't too bad," Samuel told her. "A little dull if anything." Sunnydale wasn't exactly known for being the hotbed d excitement. "How was yours?"
"That's pretty much Sunnydale in a nutshell. It lacks the luster of a large city like Los Angeles." Alison said in return. And it was probably that reason she preferred remaining in Sunnydale. The town didn't have the bright lights and big city noise that places like L.A. did. "It actually was a decent night." The blond answered closing up the paper she had been reading to rise and get herself a cup of coffee.
He nodded when she said that her night was a decent night. "Well, at least one of us had a productive night," Samuel said to her. "I suppose that I need to get used to being in Sunnydale again." It had been a very long time for him.
Alison actually looked over to Samuel then to regard the man a moment before she let herself speak. "You're planning on staying in Sunnydale for the long term?" Not that she had expected any of the Turners to be in town for a mere few short days, but then Alison hadn't thought any of them would make their stay anywhere near a permanent one.
He thought on that for a moment and then finally shrugged. He didn't want to tell her how much he truly hated this town and wanted to see it burn before things were over with. His brother Quinn was trying to keep him from doing just that, and he was at least somewhat entertaining the idea of at least waiting on that. All he had was time, after all. "I honestly haven't decided yet," he admitted. "If I do stay for much longer, I can get my own place and be out of your hair, though."
"As long as you're in Sunnydale you are welcome to stay here." Alison informed him. "By rights this is your home as much as it is mine." And though she might not be one hundred percent fine with her ancestors staying in the house, Alison wasn't about to make any of them vacate the premises. They would all survive living under the same roof, even if things were strained between some of them at the moment.
He nodded. "I truly appreciate your hospitality," he said to her. He actually liked her a lot, even though he understood that things would be...strange and a bit awkward between them. Such tended to be the case when you were talking with your ancestors. "I'm very grateful for you opening up the home to us."
On that Alison had felt obligated to receive them into her home, but the young woman wasn't about to voice that to Samuel. Revealing such would only serve to add to the tension already filling the house. "You're family and family is always welcome on Turner ground." She finally said with a light smile.
He returned her smile. He knew that it had to be strange to have him and Quinn in the house. At least with Lenore, they seemed to get along pretty well. At least Samuel wasn't a constant reminder of stuff Alison didn't want to think about, though. He had that much going for him. "So, what are your plans for today?" he asked.
"Other then getting the cabinets restocked this afternoon I don't have any set plans." Alison responded as she got a mug down from one of the shelves and filled it with freshly brewed coffee. "Was there anything you intended on doing today?"
Even if Samuel had a ring that allowed him into the daylight, he still preferred to stay indoors at least during the high points of the sun in the day. So, he may not leave here until late afternoon. "Not too much until the afternoon, I think," he admitted. "If you need help with anything, do let me know."
"That's quite generous of you, Samuel." Alison responded with an appreciative smile to the man. She didn't think he'd leave the confines of the house til there was no fear of him being torched by stepping out into the light of day.
He gave her a smile. "It's no trouble," he said to her. "Just tell me anything that you need help with and I'm more than happy to give you a hand."
Alison listened to him while she fixed herself a mug of coffee and then took a cautious sip of the steaming brew. "I'll keep that offer in mind." She told him as there wasn't any handy work that needed to be done at the moment. "In the meantime, though, I could probably fix breakfast for you if you want." Not that she thought he'd be wanting anything edible that morning. Alison knew quite well that her distant uncle's diet consisted mainly of a specific crimson drink he needed to sustain himself. But at least she was gracious in making the offer.
He gave her a polite smile. "Don't have much of an appetite this morning," Well, he didn't have much of an appetite for anything that she'd be able to cook. "Thank you for the offer, though."
"Guess it comes with the territory." The blond said in return with a light smile. With her father having become bedridden a little over six months past, Alison now saw to his ever need. Something which seemed to bleed over onto her other boarders, though not to such an extravagant degree. While she didn't pick up after them or make sure their rooms were neat and tidy, Alison did do most of the cooking for those living on the Turner Estate.
"It's a lovely habit to pick up," Samuel pointed out to her. He decided that, if he did go through with his want of destroying this town, he would make sure that Alison and those dear to her would be out of it first. "There are much worse habits to have, after all."
"There certainly are." Alison found herself having to agree with Samuel. "Much worse habits for one to acquire. And now if you'll excuse me I have duties to tend to." Which translated into her needing to go up and check on her father before she felt she be able to indulge herself in a little bit of breakfast. "If there's anything you might be wanting me to pick up when I'm out on my rounds, feel free to leave a list on the kitchen table." Alison politely told Samuel with a soft smile.
He gave her a polite nod. "I'm sure I can entertain myself for a while," he said to her playfully. He knew she needed to check on her father among other things. It was the right time of the morning for her to do that. "I'll make sure to do that. See you later."
