Title: Don't Come Easy
Prompt: #3 - love
Gibbs has never enjoyed simple women. He likes them skittish, like horses, headstrong and feisty but in need of gentling, of a firm hand. He's got it down to a science, now, after all these years. He always moves on, though. He gets bored easy, is what he tells himself.
Which is why Hollis is such a surprise.
She seems like all the others, at first, but his routines, his usual lazy tricks soon stop working. Holly asks more of him, demands it, and won't accept anything less.
"You confound me, woman," he tells her one day.
"Good," she says.
Title: Just For One Day
Fandom: Harsh Realm
Pairing/Characters: Waters, Hobbes
Prompt: #4 - hate
He's the hero. He's always been the hero. And what are you? You're the one who gets rescued, the damsel in distress, the one who lies there like some weak pussy, helpless, drowning in his own blood, while noble, courageous Tom Hobbes comes to your aid, earns his fucking medals.
Whatever. You should have died there, cowering in the dark. But now you're here, in this other world, trying to get by, just trying to live, and once again Tom fucking Hobbes has come to save you. He's come to save everyone.
Not me, you tell yourself. Not this time.
Title: A Kind Of Magic
Fandom: Northern Exposure
Prompt: #5 - magic
No one is supposed to know about this pond, about what it does to people. If Leonard finds out Ed brought Dr. Fleischman here, he's going to be in big trouble. Power comes with great responsibility. As a shaman-in-training, that's a lesson Ed should have already learned.
They dive in, the water murky and cold. Ed watches Joel surface, shaking his hair like a wet dog.
"Ed," says Joel, "I'm suddenly feeling a strong urge to kiss you." He doesn't look alarmed, though, or panicked. Ed smiles. It's working. Magic.
"It's okay, Dr Fleischman," says Ed. "Just go with it."
