Become Desire (Due South, prompt #52) Title: Become Desire Fandom:Due South Characters/Pairing: Victoria/Frannie Rating: PG Word Count: 235 Challenge/Prompt: #52 - unfinished Summary: Victoria's always cold, now
Victoria's always cold, now, all the way through, right down to her bones. She dreams of a storm, of that storm, every night, and sometimes she thinks she won't wake up. Sometimes she thinks she hasn't woken up, that none of this is real, that she's still huddled on the side of a mountain, somewhere, lost, and this, her life, is all a dream, a hallucination.
She pulls her black coat around her tight, scanning the bar, looking, searching. Warmth, is what she needs, a spark, someone alive and bright and shining. She hears a too-loud laugh, and looks over, yes, oh yes. Sassy little brunette in a short skirt and too much eye makeup, yes.
Hi, she says, smiling, opening her coat, offering her hand. I'm Vicki, she says. (Though she's not. As if she's ever been Vicki.) Can I buy you a drink?
Hello, Vicki, says the brunette, taking her hand, and Victoria swallows hard at the feel of her skin, smooth and dry and hot, so hot, but tosses her hair, covering, regaining composure.
Frannie, she says. Francesca. And I'd love you to buy me a drink, she says, lifting one shapely small leg a little higher than she needs to and draping it smoothly, gracefully over the other. Victoria motions to the bartender, licking her bottom lip, not bothering to hide the hunger in her stare. Francesca.
