Flower Delivery
Who: Dinah Lance & Oliver Queen
What: Dinah delivers flowers for a Queen Industries event in Gotham.
Where: The Ritz Gotham
When: December 2012
Rating/Warnings: Probably not going higher than PG.
The last year and a half of Dinah's life had been somewhat of a trainwreck. First there was losing her dad and then she'd met Craig and had a whirlwind marriage in an effort to fill the big gaping hole left after her father had passed away and her mom had started to fall apart. Now that was over and she'd decided to take some time off school to get her head straight.
Time off. People who were taking time off didn't accept ownership of the family business. They maybe missed school or started looking at other schools, or... well, Dinah didn't honestly know what they did. She just knew that going back to school didn't seem like something that would happen in the near future.
She threw herself into the flower shop that used to belong to her mom. She spent time working on upgrading her motorcycle and she kept herself busy. Her hard work was starting to pay off. She'd just landed a lucrative job providing all of the centerpieces for a Queen Industries event. The company that was based out of Star City had been in the news a lot lately since the return of its heir apparent. Dinah didn't have much interest in that, but since Queen Industries was currently merging a few divisions with Wayne Enterprises fo ra big project, she did have an interest in the party going on at the Ritz Gotham. More importantly, she had an interest in the business that it brought her.
She'd spent the last month preparing for the party-making sure the flowers and vases were ordered, scheduling overtime for her staff so everything could be done in time, planning out backups just in case the flowers she wanted weren't available.
Finally, it was the morning of the event and she was in the ballroom of the hotel, getting things ready. She'd also handled a delivery up to the penthouse suite, though she didn't need to know what Oliver Queen could need a dozen rose petals for. Nope. Leave that for the tabloids. It was definitely a life that she didn't have any desire to experience.
She worked her way across the room, setting out centerpieces as she went. She would have help later in the morning, but it was important that she get this right so she'd gotten an early start. Everything had to be just perfect.
